OFFICIAL Titans get their man with Fifita signing three-year deal

Ramble alert.

Is tesi’s dad for real? Where do we find these players? He’s fucking 18 and proven sweet **** all. In fact I feel pretty confident you can put this kid in the (my quads we’re bigger then everyone’s when I was growing up and just ran past everyone so I never had to learn how to read the field) players we continually scout. They just turn into over hyped flops because “news flash” everyone in the nrl is fast and strong and only the smart excel.
We didn’t hear shit from deardens camp, the kid just trained biding his time.
Seriously the broncos need to start assessing character more, it’s so fucking important. But hey who knows maybe Tesi thinks his dads a dickhead...if that was the case though he would have told him to shut his mouth as his career is on the line and teams won’t touch a player who parents will shit on the club publicly.

Id invite him into the office Monday morning and tell him “I’ve got great news for you and your Dad. The broncos are happy to let you fulfil your wish to go to the titans, as long as they cover your entire contract. Oh and by the way, you can have the rest of the day off, and don’t bother coming to training or game day the rest of the year”.

This is obvious but important to point out, there are one of two things at play here:

1. He put his father up to this, in which case punt him now.

2. He had no idea his father was going to do this and would be extremely embarrassed about it, in which case he will need to pull his father in line.

Let’s wait and see which it is before lynching the kid.

Either way, it’s his fathers second such comment in the last few weeks. Not a good look for anyone involved.

My pitchfork is sharp and ready to go, just say when.

Brutal!
Best of luck to David. For the Broncos and supporters, it's time to move on.
Don't pick David for the rest of the year. There's no point. It's not about punishment, it's about building for the future.
If you were a sadist you'd play him only to create and/or exasperate injuries, but honestly, I'd take the hit and move him on straight away. There's nothing to be gained from having him around the club now. I'd offload him to Gold Coast if right now if they have money in their cap. Even if it was only for $10g.
This is the point to take stock and access the rot, and not "what could have been".
There's no way David Fafita would have left the club for a couple/few hundred under if he believed in the club and its direction.
However, I'm serious about not having Dave around the club. The players need to build for the next few years, and he's categorically not part of that. I'd prefer to lose every game until the end of the year than see Dave wear the jersey again this year because we are at the point now where the scars can't get any deeper.
Any more pain from the games will only serve to build the resolve of the toughest players we have at the club. Recognise those players. That is the only way we will get out of this mess. That is the opportunity, that the team has at this point.
I saw it last night, there were players who wanted to represent. Players I doubted who had a go. Players I believed in who were looked liked they were over it. I don't care if they lose from now on until the end of the year, but if you turn up, I got you as a supporter. Every single player who pulls on the jersey and mans up. David won't be part of my team, and I'd prefer not to see him pull on the jersey until the end of his 3-year contract.

Is it really his Dad? If so how is that not bringing the game into disrepute? The kid is under contract

Incredible how the board fucked this up so badly. We resigned 4-5 of our younger members in the past 12 months, who most look solid first graders at best... but the one we all needed to stay and potentially the best edge forward to come along in 25 years we pissed away into a state of oblivion and uncertainty to the point where he was never going to stay.
The time to sign him was right after we got him out of the Bali jail. Fifita was quoted as saying he owes the Broncos his life and I'm convinced a 850k offer would've sealed it in January. What were we waiting for? And Dave if you're reading this you can leave our club immediately. Where is your fucking loyalty after all that has happened not only to the jersey but to Haas and the others whom you all made a pact to stay.
The club is a shambles and needs to make a bold signing somehow. I would honestly spend whatever he had and gave Cameron Smith a one year deal to retire in his home state. We need aura back to this club. Oh, and **** Seibold right off immediately...

I hope he’s the jack bird signing of the titans. Enjoy your 3 years off

Wayne Bennett always said you don't overpay props - look at contracts and props don't make backrower money. The role is more important than the player. Run fast and hard - work fast and hard - get off and come back on and do the same.

Fifita is a game changer. An offensive weapon whilst being just as important on the edge in defence.

He is better than Haas and why he has been offered record money.
Better then Haas, No.

Its just Haas is limited by his position, he is capable of being an edge player his speed is incredible for any forward let alone a prop, but his long term position is surely 13.

He never said he owes the club his life, he said the exact opposite. He said they did what they had to do and he owes them nothing.

Fair enough mate, hes A young fella why not the the cash. Tbh broncos won't get a premiership in the next 3 years anyway. Wise decision, BUT! It's the titans so it's all about the money for this guy, he doesn't care about winning, unfortunately to wear a broncos jersey, its not about pride anymore. Footy is business.

Just read on the NRL site ... "Head coach Justin Holbrook said he was "excited" to be welcoming a proven match-winning forward to the club of Fifita's standing. " ... proven ?? seriously ?? ... all last season people were saying "can you imagine how good this bloke is GOING TO BE ... not how good he ACTUALLY IS !! .. I wish the kid all the best but he's now got to go out there and ante-up on all the hype. Will be interesting to watch.
