Treatment of Fans (WAS: Where's Aeetee?)

I don't want to ever really talk to them fullstop - they're more like the parliament... MY elected representatives of choice in RL icon_thumbs_u

Still gives me the sh*ts that the club doesn't do squat for its fans in terms of allocating supporter bays etc., but that's definitely from management and nothing else. I honestly think it's going to take us dropping well down the ladder and going through some hard times before fans stop being taken for granted here.

What do you mean by an allocated supporters bay Mick? [icon_shru

There are many support groups who get together and have their own groups at the Broncos games.

While I'm much like the others in that I don't really care either way about the players off the field (apart from wanting them to conduct themselves as classy representatives of a proud club), I don't think that gives the players the right to ignore everybody. There are people who idolise them and want some recognition of that during and after games at the least.

I still think that's a responsibility of their positions as entertainers.

And agree with mick that it's the club's responsibility as an organisation to lift its game in terms of resources available to fans, particularly supporter groups, as one of their primary sources of income, and also as a primary source of popularity which drives their bargaining power for sponsorship etc.

Kee: but to do so, supporters groups have to basically buy a whole bunch of season tickets. This isn't great for groups who have a fairly liquid attendance base...ie, some people come to some games etc. It's a huge amount of organisation to get people to pay for half season tickets for example, and then buy a whole ticket and then share it around.

The club needs to assign areas for groups, so that people who come sporadically can buy a ticket through Ticketek in that area as needed. Obviously the club could apply a time limit, so that if it's not purchased by 1 week before the game it goes to the general public.

Plus provide exemptions to the security rules regarding flags and banners in those specific areas. ie, show your ticket is in section X and you can get oversized flags/banners through.

BTW, I used to be hugely into big flags. I inspired the big ones that the BHQ crew use (and my ex-missus made them). Now the idea of having to get a big flag out after a try annoys me. Hehe, glad I don't have to worry about it anymore :P

Like what the Qld Roar do with "The Den" and other clubs do with "Red V Army", "Chook Pen" and "Bulldogs Army" sections.

Just a general area where people can go & cheer loud, to be aware that big flags and banners are welcome and that's the place to go to get behind the boys and make some NOISE for once.

But no. They only got close with the Black Zone, which was clearly a turd unable to be polished. Quite frankly, the Broncos won't listen and put in an extra bit of work without getting lots of $$$$$ out of it.

But, as I said before, a few years down the bottom of the table with a 13,000 crowd average one day might make them stand up and realise that we bring a lot to the club.

Guys - the Broncos were prepared to get a section together for the supporters opposite to the Blackzone end behind the goal posts. However, the problem was that people were not interested in removing themselves from their existing seats in the stands to sit behind the goals. They cannot allocate a supporters section in the East and West stands because the existence of too many large flags and banners etc will obstruct the views of the Suncorp stadium members... however, the option was open to go behind the goal posts. Perhaps if there is interest in moving, we could look into that again [icon_shru

There'd be major interest from me. Anywhere where we can actually make the footy a little bit more exciting would be fantastic. Farking pathetic that an 11,000-strong Roar crowd shits on a full house of Broncos v. Cowboys.

I don't understand how the Black Zone bacame the official supporters. I mean doesn't BHQ buy the most expensive tickets and the BZ tickets were about $200 less per season. I suppose it was becose of XXXX's sponsorship money.

If I was up there i'd be all for it. The atmosphere and pleasure gained by being freely allowed to get a possible 1/4-1/2 a bay full of people getting right into the game without being over-policed by snobs would more than make up for the compartively lousy viewing from behind the posts.

Definitely. Cheaper seats too icon_thumbs_u

I would absolutely ADORE it. TBH I can't even remember it being mentioned before... wonder if they'd still be willing to have it as an allocated Broncos Supporter Bay eusa_think

That's why the Sydney Stable doesn't really care where we sit at a ground - it's all about being in a group and making as much noise as possible!

And sitting as far away from the opposition teams feral supporters is a fairly important component to!

We discussed it during the year the Blackzone emerged. And people didn't want to let go of the great seats we currently have.

As for the Sydney lot - I agree with Emma - the further away from the home fans, the better and safer for us icon_thumbs_u

Agree with a few here, I don’t really care what the players do off the field. Not looking to meet them either but if I do, it’ll be nice too. The reason I’m not too fuss about meeting them or approaching them is they could possibly turn out to be pricks.

*cough* Paul Harragon *cough*

Have to admit, if I get a photo opportunity, I’ll more than gladly take it because I haven’t had one to date after all these years. Hoping to change that with a certain player and a banner I’m in the process of making.

Yeah, I love the seats we've currently got. However I have never sat in the Northern or Southern stands (which will change at the Manly match) so I haven't got anything to compare it to. If the BHQ does move then I'd be happy to go too - I enjoy the atmosphere and the flags as much as the seats.

The Blackzone was great! I did it for 2 years and had an absolute ball. 4 free tickets to every game of the season. But admittidly, that was the only reason that alot of people became a part of it. There were a few diehard fans that were cheering without force each week but it was the minority. I was the only one with a flag too.

It was purely a marketing promotion for XXXX though, really had nothing to do with being Broncos fans. It was just the easiest way to do it.

Haha now that would be interesting. Something I'd like to see.

I absolutely love traditonal rugby league grass hills - Love them! There is absolutely nothing better than standing up on a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon on the top of the hill at Penrith, Campbelltown, Brookvale, WIN, Kogerah or (and especially) Liechardt oval.

I am a sucker for traditional rugby league grounds with hills.

Newcastle was good. Untill it stated raining [icon_thumbs_do

WIN is probably the best IMO
