Hopefully we are not really considering giving the 1 to Isaako. It does nothing for the team long term, Mead has filled in there before but can't really recall the outcome of that one. Why would the club not give the nod to Cobbo? Seems a bit strange to me, unless the club really don't see him there right now at all.

Guess I have to trust Kev and management, that they have their reasons. But Nui having hamstring issues is not good this early in the career, they can be injuries that effect the mind long after the injury heals. The good news is the high caliber rehab he will get will hopefully give him confidence and nullify that issue, but if not losing confidence in your explosive power could be very detrimental to Nui.

probably because the club listen to the players instead of the fans

He's wearing heels. Obviously

Thats clearly not going to work. You have to remember i have a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people who would do that kind of thing to Patty.
The way youve written it, makes you sound like liam neesan but ive got you more pegged in my mind as leslie neilsen. Either way im grabbing the popcorn.

maybe Cobbo has been trained in the centre position all preseason, sometimes it's better to fill the gap with someone outside the starting 13 then swapping starters in and out of position.

Yeah for sure, I recall them saying he has been training at fullback a bit. But your right, no point changing the whole team dynamic to fill a spot. Isaako and Mead both can do the job I am sure, Mead probably suits the body type of Nui better which can simulate the same passing targets ect. Mead is a guy that will always give 100% so I am happy with him getting the nod.

Mead is far more reliable than Isaako and I think the early rounds should be about getting the small things right. Which Isaako never does - he just sometimes gets the big things right.

If we go with Mead and need to find some points later in the game or are flogging a team, he and Cobbo can always swap for segments of the match.

You're your effect affect. But YOU ARE right. But your right. What about my right? No, I mean you are right. So, not my right but I am right? My right shouldn't effect you. What do you mean, it shouldn't effect me, you mean like special effects?well, I'm not going to let it affect me! You're right again.

Fair dinkum, some of you just bang on and on and on saying the same tired old shit but rarely does it occur to you that Isaako has got it right on most occasions but you simply do not register it.

You are so intent, wrapped up in your own narrative that you are stunningly blind to the times Isaako gets the little things right, you simply don't notice them or your presuppositions blot them out. It's weird how someone like Wayne Bennett sees the little things but you guys, superior judges all, know best. I'm amazed that the simple fact others, vastly better qualified to judge don't agree with you.

Oh look, the arrogant boor has entered the chat. Not sure if your fuelled by alcohol or just have a inflated sense of you're self.

Maybe you should sit back and ask yourself what you are infact contributing. I really see no need for your passive aggressive and strange post.

Sure but so far, at Q Cup level and even in the All Stars last week, every time he has played at fullback, he's done well. So what is the reason for the pessimism? This is a genuine question.

It would be that I am not so optimistic to think he will slide right into the fullback role in the hardest league in the world and be a standout performer.

He may be good but he's not THAT good, nobody is. Go back and look at the careers of some of the all time greats, rarely do they ever slot straight into the 1/6/7/9 and dominate, it takes time to get them there. I think us as fans desperately want someone like Selwyn to be that good of a player and I am sure he will be but it won't be until he's feeling comfortable in the NRL.

Taafe, Campbell, Walsh, Laurie all played fullback last year with far less exposure to the NRL than Cobbo has had. Laurie is the only one who had any NRL experience before getting an extended run at FB (3 games in 2020).

All of them played exceptionally well. There’s no reason Cobbo can’t fill in for 2 games if asked to.

I think we forget that Niu is only 8 months older than Cobbo.

The issue is everyone in here is so worried about player development and all that bullshit. If someone is good they will be fine. Karmichael Hunt played when he was 17. Pretty sure he had won a comp and an origin series by the time he was Cobbo’s age.
