Trial results

From memory Kemp was pretty awesome in his appearances at fullback for the Broncos. I'd be more than happy to see him back in the 1. But we have so many talented backs that I think we'll be okay with anyone other than Michaels there.

Well it's not all about HIM, the TEAM will be better off with Kemp on the wing and Hoffman/Norman at fullback icon_thumbs_u

I disagree, because who do we drop when Yow Yeh comes back??? Certainly not Kemp he will be leading try scorer for the NRL 2010. icon_thumbs_u

He has to be in the team to get dropped.

As long as possible imo YowYeh/hodges and izzy/winter needs to be kept where possible. From the stands at the Dragons Final last year it looked like both sides competed. Yow/Hod drags the guy back to ingoal Izz/Win do the "we can do that to" its healthy and awesome for Brisbane.

We need it imo

Man, our backline options look good! I'm really excited about seeing who we end up with this year in our backline.

None of us has seen Winterstein play this season yet. Let's see if he suffers second year syndrome.

Where has Winterstein been this season?

We can only hope that with that much talent in the backline, everyone has to play like machines each week to keep a spot. I can see a fair bit of rotating going around for the first few weeks though.

I think they've just rewarded him for his season last year (he played every game didn't he?) and gave him a longer rest in the offseason. He's considered a certainty to play round 1 so just give him one trial to work out some cobwebs and that'll do.

Which clearly indicates they don't intend playing him in the centres too.

I would say Henjak is pretty definite that Kemp and Winterstein will play wing in round 1. Corey Norman or Josh Hoffman seem set for fullback.

Israel Folau will be one centre, for sure.

Other centre will come down to Gerard Beale, Alex Glenn, Steve Michaels or Ben Te'o I'd say.

The question is what will happen when first Yow Yeh and then Hodges return from injury. Who will drop out?

Yeah, I don't think they'd rush Yow Yeh into the starting side, he'll come back to Q Cup. But assuming he rips it up there I think Henjak would have trouble leaving him out of the first grade side.

As I said, competition for spots. It's fantastic! Something we haven't had much, especially in the backline, for years! It's always a case of someone underperforming and everyone demanding they get dropped and then you think who could replace them? And you draw a blank.

No shortage of options this year.

I wish we had that sort of competition where we need it though, in the forwards.

True, though the likes of Gillett, Dodds, Anderson etc, we've got a bit more depth in the forwards than we did last year.

And there could well be a superstar in the making. I really hope there is so then all the douches around here (And other parts) begging Bruno to buy every washed up hack that was on the market (o hai Willie Mason) can eat some humble pie!

Yep, could be another 1991. Struggled along but the likes of Carne, Renouf, Hohn, Gee etc really stepped up and got some valuable experience. We all know what happened in 1992...

And that doesn't mean we'll miss the finals this year. Even in 1991 we finished 7th out of 16.

And this year we have Locky,Hodges,Wallace,Parker,Thaiday,Kenny to guide the young guys.

Its a good year to be a Broncos fan

Oh, and in 1991 Gene Miles retired...who's our aging star captain? Locky to make 2010 his swansong afterall maybe?

Wouldnt be the worst thing would it?

Retire while we still have 2 guys to take his place. 3 if you count Norman. Locky Announces Soon. Smith/Hunt/Norman stay at Brisbane to try and secure Lockys spot.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking.

But ultimately it's up to Locky. He wants to stay til 2012, who's going to say "no Locky, piss off" :P
