Trials

I'm thinking of making the trip up to the sunny coast for the last trial... Where does one get tickets? Or they are the sold out?

How many Bronco debutants did we have against Penrith last year? It was quite a high number too from memory. Robinson, Clinton, Sims, Marsh...were there others?

Side for the storm game looks pretty close to what i think we'll see round one.

If De Vere has a good match i wonder if Ivan will think of having him at fullback for round 1.

We have young players who are dieing to get a chance in the team.

Nashy is a bit like Scotty - thinks unproven players should just be given a go, regardless of their experience or attitude.

Yes I agree. Lets hold on to all the old players and once they retire look for more old players. Once they retire get some more.

Sometimes you have to take a chance.

There have been like two players I have said this about, moon and Yow Yeh. Did you have a go at Mick for saying Kemp should be given a shot? Shut your trap Jeb, this BS is getting old.

Wouldn't a trial be the best opportunity to see if Devere still has the game to compete in the NRL again as well?If he has a shocker in his comeback game I would prefer it to be in a trial at Kawana than round 1 at Suncorp

I would rather see if a young bloke has a shocker or not.

We aren't there though Nashy to see how the young blokes are going - it is going to be a huge step up for most of them from Under 20's. If Ivan thinks that Devere can offer more than Yow Yeh or whoever he would be mad to to give him first crack - after all it is his head on the chopping block if we go ordinary this year. Our under 20 blokes have the luxury of a second or third season if they build up quietly this year - Ivan does not.

I have no problem with De Vere playing now to be honest, but Dave has a good point. The trials are a great way to test they capabilities of players who are potentially over the hill, or potentially too inexperienced

I'm pretty sure I did have a go at Mick actually, on the basis that Boyd and Michaels were on fire and that there were a few outside backs that I watched in the trial games that went a lot better than Kemp. In the long run, Mick was correct, I still had a go at him [icon_wink

Oh and you said it about Taylor as well [icon_wink

3 blokes? Congrats. What was that new rule about continuous baiting again?

Absolutely it's a risk playing a new bloke, but everyone has to start somewhere.
