He wouldn't have been named in the extended squad if he hadn't. He has been doing full contact since last week and will probably feature in the playoffs.

I think he is referring to the reports that he was supposed to be homesick and was missing his mates. Not sure there has been a particular report dealing directly with his mental state of health.

the most i have seen is nothing more than speculation. i don't recall seeing any quotes from Bird himself, just a few people claiming that he has been struggling this season due to frustration

Is that part of the same reports that suggested that Bird wanted head back to Cronulla because he attended a game there on Sunday? Or how about the one where the Broncos were going to release him so he could play for the Sharks again but were still going to pay most of his salary?

He'll be fresh, can cover any injury bar prop and would provide great impact for 30mins a game or so.

It would mean dropping Mago, but Sims and Ofa should be able to cover the extra minutes. Again this would be a good game to see how they perform with a 4 prop rotation
