Under-fire Broncos recruit Jack Bird eyes return for Brisbane

Worst broncos signing ever if he leaves, worse than Clinton, Sims whoever else you can think of.
 
It'll be funny if he actually wanted to go back to the Sharks, the club that fucked him over this year.
 
If i was in charge of the Broncos and a play came asking for a release in similar circumstances to Bird, these would be my conditions to granting it (especially if it was his former club):

  1. They take his entire salary. The Broncos will not be paying a cent
  2. They pay compensation in the amount the club spent on his rehab this year
  3. They cover his entire wage for the 2018 season, since we only got a busted version, especially as it didn't happen on our watch

If they took his salary and released valentine Holmes in exchange I wouldn't grumble. :P

No worries Jack, we'll just provide you excellent medical treatment and fix up the multiple injuries you've been carrying for years from that shit hole, cheat of a club you just came from only for you to have a sook and demand to go back. No way I would let him walk without a player of his tier or better coming here in exchange.

Holmes would be acceptable. Will have to check that his ACL, shoulders, brain, spinal cord, etc and are intact before we accept him though.

I just want him to play atleast 10 games for us to see if he is worth the money and effort the broncos have put into him. It'd be a pretty shit thing to do to leave us after we've patched him up
 
So what are we a treatment facility that pays you for your treatment or a fucking football club. If this is true the **** should have to return his salary for the year and pay his medical bills. I hope this is untrue. But if it is not this **** should be made a pooper through litigation.

I don't think it is.

I think there is some truth to it. There are little things that are bothering me about this. When Buzz spent the better part of a year trying to tell everyone that Bird wanted to backflip, his family came out and denied it, stating he will honor his deal. I believe Bird himself also said it. His family were quick to do it, as well. They made it their mission to make it clear that he is not backflipping.

But now they are quiet.

Has anyone at the Broncos even denied it? They are using phrases like, "I'm sure he will stay" and "I'd like him to stay." But I haven't seen anyone flat out say he has not asked for a release.

Usually when that happens, there is truth to the rumours. I'm willing to bet that if you were to look at similar incidents in the past few years, 9 times out of 10 you will find those rumours of a player asking for a release were actually true.

Now it's just up to the club to convince him to stay. But I would not be surprised if in a few months time, it goes bad for us.
 
Best spot for him here is probably in the centres now (which is also his best position to be honest). I don't think he'll do any better than Nikorima in the halves, and if we get Sullivan and with the rookies we have coming through, there's probably much more upside there than him too. And at lock, I think whatever he can do, TPJ could easily do more and better.

He came here before TPJ really came into his own and when Kodi was much less settled than now. And he said he left to get more ball and play other positions, didn't he? I dunno if he'd go back to the Sharks, but some other shitty side might want him in the halves or in the middle, which could appeal to him.
 
I would be filthy if he manages to get fit and wins a GF with us then leaves.

If he wants to go though, let him walk, provide set aren't paying anything from our cap next year.
If he is on the speculated 800 odd k
then maybe we could snap up DCE with that.
