Updated - Lockyer rules himself out of Manly match

Given the intense media so far, I imagine every contact with Locky will come under very close scrutiny by everyone, not least of which his team mates. I doubt Hasler is that stupid to even think about any "special" treatment for Lockyer. He will make it quite clear to his team to play fair.

Problem is, most of Manly's team are thugs and idiots. If Lockyer plays, I forsee an all in brawl next Friday and a send-off. Whatmough or Matai spring to mind.

They'd definitely be targeting him...Tony Williams would probably be told to just run at Lockyer every time.

I read the one about henjak and knew that one had to be you

Yeah, they didn't publish my other one. Basically saying all the armchair critics and doctors interstate commenting on a case they aren't medically involved with should STFU.

Exactly. Every injury is different in it's own way. They aren't involved and know everything about it so wtf would they know?

Some guy called Nathan Gibbs was on Triple M just now saying that Lockyers jaw is like an egg shell patched up with glue and paddle pop sticks so there is risk of further damage. Wtf.
Yeah, didn't you know that titanium strips have nothing on paddle pop sticks? :duh:

Out of interest, why would doctors advise Lockyer against flying to the game?

What is the risk to the injury of going in a plane? How is it different from driving?

Would be awesome to get a convoy of Broncos fans to drive down with Darren. Would be so epic. :haha:

Pressure at altitude etc.

Interesting, that's what I thought but I didn't think that sort of thing could have an effect on an injury. Interesting stuff.

@Beads, that would be awesome haha, imagine 10+ cars going with him the whole way.

I reckon Docs would be working overtime this week on his injury, oxygen chambers(what ever they're called), blood transfusions and the whole lot.

Who knows, if they go all out he could be ready for the game. Obviously they wouldn't do that for a normal game but in a game with this significance they wouldn't be saving a $.

I would've thought it would be the lower pressure and danger of blood clots

Apparently it makes it swell up heaps.
