Updated - Lockyer rules himself out of Manly match

He'll be a huge liability in defence.
I dont think so, Locky is as tough as they come, he will get the added protection from thaiday, he will be fine, I think everyone is worrying way too much, locky is tough as nails and the injury will not effect him on game day

Des Hasler will run Tony Williams at him for 80 minutes, that is more than a little scary.

Darren's gone to amazing lengths just to take the field. No way will any of his teammates let Manly intimidate or target him. The first bloke to run at Locky will get buried.

thats fine cause he will handle it and if they focus their game on him, we will burn them, we have alot of talent on this team, locky will handle himself easily and his presence will lift the others. The premiership is ours to lose

Kimmorley says Locky would feel a lot better tomorrow and it all depends on the fluid about how his eye and all that would feel.

He said swelling is the main thing(obviously), the doctors say the cheekbone where the metal is, is even stronger than the other side. Says there is no way it will break because the plates are stronger than the bones.

He says in 1-2 days they would probably know if he could play and he said once it's been a few days the pain is nothing compared to the pain when it actually broke which is what he played with yesterday! He reckons he'll be able to play and get through it fine.

Please

Morris took a dive, like Greg Louganis proportions.

F2ck them, if they are going to have players lay down to get an advantage don't expect anything less when you're on the ground, it's too hard to tell when they're acting

Ok then, this what I posted in the cat of the week, the point I was making was if it's ok for Hodges then we have to expect the Manly scum to play it as we do, all is fair.

Doubt they will target him when he has the ball but they will run some serious traffic his way, probably drop the shoulder into his face and generally make as much contact as possible

It will certainly not be easy out there for Darren. Given where he defends and the injury is on the left side of his face you'd imagine they will be targeting his inside shoulder all night. This is easily the tougher shoulder to defend, not even taking into account a broken cheekbone that will be very, very tender. He's just going to have to get his head into places he doesn't want to.

It will be a huge performance if he can just get through the game holding his own in defence. On the flip side it could also create a few opportunities for us. They will put an onus on pressuring his kick, however this violates the games number 1 commandment - thou shalt not rush up on Lockyer.

It's such a shame as he was immense last night. He hasn't played better at 6 than he has this year IMO. Fingers crossed he loses nothing.

He only needs to be out there and the belief he gives this team is priceless.

Could this add to the fairy tail?

Well from what they're saying, with the metal plates inserted it will be even stronger than what it is naturally. I think it's going to be a bigger problem mentally than physically. It will still hurt like hell but I think he'll get a few painkillers before and during the game to numb it.

Will certainly add to the fairy tail if we win the comp with Lockyer playing. It will add to how brave he is and what a champion he is.

He's a certainty to be an immortal if we win the comp this year IMO.

What do you expect mother, I'm half machine!

Who had that terminator Locky avatar? That would be really appropriate this week!

I remembered someone having it too, but I couldn't find it, so I tried making a crappy copyright infringement version in MS Paint. It was bad.

The they will run traffic at Lockyer call is a beat up IMO. He has had that his whole career, how can the possibly target him anymore than they do? If all goes well he plays if not we win without him.

They will target his injury.

His injury is in the head area.

High shot, penalty.

We win.

I can imagine he'll receive a few 'facials' if he gets caught in possession.
