Is there a requirement that you read every thread ? It's like your tv, you can watch the channels you like, why read if you only want to add valueless comments ? Save yourself the time...read about prowrestling or whatever, fat tv ladies etc

I don't think you can just stick a dummy half into a team and expect timing to be perfect, no matter who. NSW will have the same problem tomorrow night but atleast he will have trained with the team a little longer than waddel. Perhaps waddel could have played better. Perhaps different tactics to accommodate the flaws of younger, less experienced players, or players playing out of position or together for the first time might have been adopted, but its hard to expect that in a week. The next game a very different team will line up, against a different opposition. It will be one, hopefully with macca, and we might now realise just how good he is for us.

When the team gets together at training . The skills coach should be telling Waddel to be more aggressive with his dummy half work . Take that clip of Bunji reaching in and picking the ball up as soon as its heeled . Then practice it every day till it improves .
Not to many elite level jobs where you can have a flaw in your own personal performance that affects the whole team performance . Not improve it and get your contract renewed .

Alternatively teach the receivers that old mate takes a little longer to pass so don`t stand too flat or your gonna be under pressure when you receive the ball and prolly receive a fwd pass or knock on . Its not rocket surgery

I added my 2c, but felt there was another element at play here. One that is less concerned about assessing Travis Waddell and the value he brings to the team and is far more interested in demeaning other members simply in a petty game of one ups mans ship. I'd hate to think members weren't allowed to have an opinion without having to provide a comprehensive video evidence, especially for a matter as small as this.

I took the time to fast fwd and rewind the video . Noted the points of detail . Offered a remedy . Gave an opinion .

Anyone who plays 1st grade NRL is a special athlete . Many years of prep to be ready . Then fck up a fundemental like not picking the ball up as soon as its in play is a major flaw . Disjoints the attack .

They talk about a game of inches . Well there`s a classic example .

Its been a few years since I did a ref`s course . But the rule I learnt was once the ball clears the heel its live play . Why delay passing the ball ? The defense is already moving fwd .

Cool, if nothing else a few people actually watched closely Waddells efforts and I'd say realised he isn't as bad as he's been portrayed. I don't think he's anything special but I believe he deserves credit when it's due. If that one single pass was blatantly forward the commentators and crowd would have said something but not a peep. Add to that the officials didn't see anything wrong with it so no, blatant it wasn't. Lineball ? Yeah, sure.

If I'd invested as much emotion in something so petty, or thought that you'd ever have the integrity to follow through on your word, I'd show you exactly how forward it was. Waddell did a pretty good job for a backup hooker. Not many teams in the comp have decent backup hookers. Its just something teams don't go with these days. As for the calls of getting Parcell back, I would love to have him back like the rest of us, but we simply couldn't afford him. He isn't going to take minimum wage to sit behind macca all year.

I didn't invent the forward passes. Like I freely admitted, I got it wrong. It was Nikorima who threw them. They happened, from dummy-half, and were blatant and repeated. I just pinged the wrong player for it. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. But not because I pre-judged or made it up or hallucinated.

Yeah that is a true statement about Macca. That said, he does have the best 9 of all time taking all those rep jerseys off him. It is no put-down at all on Macca to lose out to the best player in his position ever.

No, you just have to prove your original claims....multiple forward passes, multiple occurrences.

Funny, you were told Waddell didn't do those things yet you blundered on. You were told I'd reviewed tbe game and put money up yet that didn't shake your conviction, you'd think you would stop and think at that point but no, onwards ever onwards. It just shows that you really didn't watch the game, you really don't pay much attention and most damning of all, your judgement is highly suspect.

I knew Waddell hadn't made any forward passes after watching it just once. I knew because I'd actually paid attention. I reviewed the match because I know how poorly the human brain can perform at times and I could have missed something but no, I had remembered accurately. You only half watched, you saw but didn't see. You assumed due to bias, it influenced you. It's time to start questioning your ability, self appraisal can be healthy
