OFFICIAL Walsh signs with the Broncos until 2025

Being talked about on 360 right now.

WUT
I'd like to question the title of this thread. Who is saying he's "agreed to terms?" Every word about this in the print media suggests they're still negotiating, but confident.

Kent specifically said he has not agreed to terms:

“The other part is that the Dolphins were in heavy for Walsh, look it is not over yet, he has not signed, he has not agreed to any terms with the Broncos but it is certainly the conversation going on.”
“The Dolphins were desperate for him, you have just spoken to officials at Brisbane, it is not official that he has signed yet, I am sure at the eleventh hour the Dolphins will come in hard for Reece again. This may not be over.”

****... could you imagine the salt coming from the rest of the NRL if moving forward we had something along the lines of:

1. Walsh
3. Staggs
4. Cobbo
6. Ezra
7. Walker
13. Patty

Look I can’t not think that Selwyn will eventually be the FB. It would rub me the wrong way a bit if we sided with Walsh over Selwyn. Let’s just say after Reyno is gone and Ezra has the capabilities and kicking game then we would go:
1. Cobbo
6. Walsh
7. Mam
9. Mozer
Wouldn’t sit right with me IF Cobbo wanted the fullback spot and signed with the belief it was his for us to sign Walsh a week later.

One thing that can't be lost in the excitement of possibly signing these young guns is that it was recruiting of old heads and seasoned pros that has been the most important factor on where we are right now.

We can't be looking to sign the Walsh's, etc. and then forgetting about retaining guys like Jensen... and then the solid hard working first graders like Kobe moving forward.

We can't go from a team of kids picking up the first spoon in the team's history to finally getting our hands on two gold standard senior players in Capewell and Reynolds, and seasoned guys like Jensen, Pereira, Brenko, James (off field leadership), etc. only to then revert back to all the shiny new kids on the block and leaving it up to Reyno to shepherd a bunch of kids through first grade

I'm surprised that there would be bad blood between them... aren't dolphins currently their feeder team??

That seems pretty odd. Wonder whats gone on there. They have been pretty helpful to the Warriors.

Could be bad blood specifically with Peter O'Sullivan??

And he would be the one dealing directly with a new deal on Walsh... maybe he's just been agitating warriors non-stop to get them to release Walsh and they've had enough of him

Maybe, but I’ve been blown away by Te Maire’s defence. Reece, not so much.

That was the only thing that stopped me from saying every aspect, TMM is better defensively than Walsh for sure. The hope would be that our coaching staff can fix that up in the pre-season for Walsh before it's an issue for us.

Once again, the good thing is that it's not an attitude problem with Walsh's defense, he always throws his body in the way of bigger players and tries his best to stop them. Just needs some better coaching on his technique & positioning.

Yeah the difference in defence would be hugely noticeable, but the one thing that Walsh does have, is that he's fucking vocal on the footy field.

If we are to get Walsh I'd probably prefer to get him at the end of the season and keep going with TMM at fullback... his organising of the defence and then tackling 1v1 has been a massive reason to our form.

If you get Walsh in at the end of the year you get a whole preseason to work his ass off purely on defence... his attack is fine and he can fit into a system straight away, but they absolutely need to get him up to speed with organising our defence.

Not sure really. Will have to do some digging once i'm allowed outside again!

Interesting development...

Reckon this tells us that O'Sullivan & the current Warriors owners did not have a amicable breakup..

Who knows, maybe the Dolphins have tried to sign multiple Warriors players behind their back whilst they were stuck in QLD?

Reminds me though of when i was a 19 year old living on the Gold Coast. I was a A-grade dickhead.

Cant blame Walsh for being the same at a similar age..

It makes me wonder though - how much freight are we letting go off next year? We wont be paying Lodge next season, thats maybe the Roosters?

Who else comes off our books? Maybe thats where some/all of the Walsh money is coming from?

Look, I love what TMM has brought to the side this year, we were competing for a top 4 spot for a good while and he has played no small part in it.....But you can't drag Mam now. Not as he's just beginning to adapt to first grade.

You bench Mam now, you will lose him to another club faster than you can squeeze a fart out.
Ezra is milf 2.0, not on my list of keepers
