If you only won 12 out of 24 your win percentage is 50%. You can try and argue as much as you want but you are wrong. A draw is a draw, not a win. A win percentage is the percentage of games played that you win.

12/24 = 50%

tell me, if a team got 24 draws would you say they have a 100% win percentage?
No, they would have neither a winning nor a losing percentage. They would have a 100% drawing average. You have always maintained that Newcastle gained entry into the finals losing as many games as they have won back in 2013. They won more than they lost while winning 50% of their games. They lost 46% of their games ( rounded for ease ). Therefore they had a winning percentage.

BREAKING NEWS: Broncos are set to bring back a number of the players that left during the dark years of Bennett's absence.

Darius Boyd
Karmichael Hunt
Corey Norman
Gerard Beale

And yes, they can all play fullback...The Broncos will be the first team in history to win a premiership with a team of fullbacks.

Welcome back. Reece Robinson is going to feel left out. I'll let Folau slip as he's only played there in Yoonion.

You're trying to redefine the long standing term "win percentage". It's not a subjective thing that changes to a lose percentage or a draw percentage lol. It's number of wins divided by number of games played (*100). That is your win percentage. Your lose percentage would be number of losses/number of matches.

Lets make this clear - you are wrong. Win percentage is win percentage, not win+draw percentage.

So much hate from the usual suspects. To those that think the Dragons, the Knights, or Griffin has been stabbed by Bennett:

* He was leaving the Knights regardless. They knew this. The terms of his contract had been breached. If they weren't willing to sign him with those clauses in place, they shouldn't have signed him in the first place. I'll argue later on why he didn't a achieve success there, but that's beside the point for now.

* The Dragons never had his signature, at least as far as any if us know. That's pretty clear cut. Regardless of how much they were counting on him going there, nothing's in stone if it hasn't been chiselled on.

* The main sticking point with Griffin's apologists is that Bennett went back on his word that he'd never go for a job that had an existing coach in place. But how do we know that Griffin hadn't already been slated for the bin? After 3 losses in a row, including a 22 point capitulation against the likely Spooners, as well as yet another loss in the last 10 minutes of a game, the writing was likely on the wall. We know that the Broncos prefer to operate behind closed doors, and the last two times they searched for a head coach, it was a PR nightmare, so it'd be no surprise if they did the deed before anyone publicly even know there was even a search on.

I actually think this whole thing has been going on since the pre-season. I think Hook has known longer than he let on that he wasn't going to be coach if Bennett wanted to come back.

Would swapping Hoffman for Boyd be the worst thing? Hoffman is on his last year of his contract next season, which means we'd have to re-sign him for pretty big money in 2016, $500k+, which is similar to what we'd have to pay Boyd.. My only concern is convincing Boyd the big baby to play wing for the rest of his career, and not being salty about it.

Rather just not have Boyd back.

Interesting times ahead for the Brisbane. Can lightning strike twice? If anyone can do it, it's Bennett... Personally, I thought today was a real shambles. If we're going to pay 4 million dollars for a coach why not have a tender process? It may have attracted applicants all over the world? May have even been tempting for coaches like Bellamy and Hasler to have a nibble? Have seen some coaches break contracts before when the opportunity was right. Oh well...

Bellamy is on $1.6m a year at storm. I think $4m for Bennett is actually good value

Boyd is just a less crappy version of Hoffman.

1. Bennett wasn't signed to Tinkler, he was contracted to the knights. He just plain quit, his contract wasn't voided. He left because the going got tough and he knows he can't make them a force to be reckoned with.

2. The writing was on the wall because we lost to a possible wooden spooner.......so we replace him with the coach of the other possible wooden spooner who just quit mid season when his team needed him the most........

Boyd's on $600k+ now, and he's going to want an upgrade - and daddy will give it to him. I'd be guessing we'll be shelling out $750k+ for him.

So with Bennett now going to resign hannant as well, I'd say we're gonna be losing some decent money players for sure. McGuire looks as good as gone, and I wouldn't be surprised if barba leaves after 2015 if not earlier.

wanted to write this in the "sack griffin" thread but I see that's been closed now ...

I've been as vocal as anyone on here calling for Griffin's replacement so probably have no license to suddenly give the guy a wrap but I really have to tip my cap for the way he handled today. Despite whatever he did or didn't bring to the table as coach, he showed incredible character and class as a man today and I dare say would've won plenty of admirers at other NRL clubs, particularly any who're considering their future head coaching options.

Yes, it was very strong just like Griffin the man. I hope he realises his ambition and gets the Broncos into the GF, maybe even win it. For me personally I'd consider it the best of all possible outcomes with him being a certainty to get another gig and the Broncos a premiership appearance. If the loyalty is really there then heaven help Melbourne , we will belt them. Bearing in mind what the over the cap Melbourne team did to us a few years back we should have enough motivation for ten games.

Absolutely. He lost no fans. Anyone else get the impression that he had a lot of time to prepare that speech though?

I didn't say he was signed to Tinkler. But clearly he had clauses in there should Tinkler lose control. Or do you think that Wayne Bennett is truly such an arsehole that he's terminating his own contract Just Because Wayne and expects no one to stand up to him?

What I do agree with is that Hannant is now a much better chance of staying which is great. McGuire is going to need to do a bit of soul-searching - if he truly wants to play for whatever team Hook coaches, is he prepared to take that loyalty all the way to the Qld Cup should that possibility (albeit slim) eventuate? I suspect, like most of the players did, Moose was sticking by his Coach, but McGuire is the sort of player Bennett both loves and needs - it'll take a lot to pry him away IMO.

Barba is a confidence player. Ask Jamie Soward if Bennett can get the best out of that sort.

"he showed incredible character and class as a man today "

The fact that Griffin and White still claimed today that they can win the premiership just showed how completely deluded they are. White, in particular, seems to be a particularly oblivious individual.

Broncs will struggle to win a game over the next month, despite the likely "do it for Griff" "do it to impress the new boss" boost the players will have.

Bennett needs a big broom to clean out Reed, Kennedy, Hoffman, etc and any forward that likes to sip cafe lattes and show up with 20+% missed tackle percentages - looking at you Glenn, Gillett etc...
