I think that Seibold has to be our new coach. Very impressed with him and he has done a superb job with the rabbits this year.

Seibold has done wonderful things with the Rabbits this year no doubt

But......when it really mattered, one game from the big dance, they folded like a picnic table at the end of a farmer's market

Good grief, they were awful

Yeah they got 2 games further than we did, but their exit was just as disastrous

Still pretty impressive from a rookie coach. It's probably not the side he wants either, being in his first year. Despite all the points they've scored, half of their spine is really fucking shit in terms of ball playing. It'll be interesting to see if he sticks with Reynolds and Johnston long term if he stays at Souffs.

It's too late to sack Bennett now.

We can't spend our off-season and possibly pre-season looking around for another coach. We need to just let Bennett see out his final year and spend the next season recruiting another coach.

If O’Sullivan plays and wins GF we could finally have what we need next year - a premiership winning halfback. And hell if can do it with only 2 NRL games even more impressive.

There was a board meeting last week and according to courier mail WB wasn't even discussed. Next meeting end Oct when the subject will be discussed.

They did have two pretty intense games leading up to their exit. I had a feeling the loss to the storm would sap their spirits. Considering the broncos were on a 3 game winning streak there is No way it compares to the massacre at Suncorp.

All the top 4 sides had pretty much zero injuries to key personnel. Our inexperience caught up to us.

The Dragons game for instance, we got torn apart on the edge where Gillett/ Su'a and/ or Bird would have been defending.

Melbourne don't have a single player injury in the top squad. Not. One.

Their luck is insane, they seemingly never have key injuries at the business end.

Another thing to do with the wrestle. They never hit hard in defence so their bodies are hardly ever taking much force.

So. Wayne is out for 2020 according to Badel. Broncos press conference this arvo.

Official announcement on the club's website that 2019 will be Wayne Bennett's last as coach of the Broncos.

As expected though I'm glad at least they have confirmed it and preparation for 2019 can continue without that cloud over it(well hopefully anyway), nothing to benefit from letting it drag on.

Club Statement: Broncos' Coaching Future

The Brisbane Broncos can confirm that 2019 will be Wayne Bennett's final year as the club's coach.

Broncos Chairman Karl Morris said he and Bennett agreed that he would see out his current contract to the end of next season.

Bennett said: "Having the decision made now puts an end to speculation and allows a clear focus on getting ready for next season.

"I firmly believe in the playing group we have here at the club."

Morris said the club had been consistent since the start of the year on its considered approach to the coaching position for 2020, and that approach would continue.

"The club will work through a thorough process, led by CEO Paul White, to identify and select a coach for the 2020 season and beyond," said Morris.

White said: "We are in no rush to find the next coach of this club and we have been clear on that for the past year – we have a process and we will work through that to get the best result.

"Planning has already begun for next season and we are expecting big things from the team.

"The 2019 season is something we can all look forward to."

If Bennett doesn’t retire after 2019 and goes to another club, our roster will be interesting

Just a shame he is not resigning now. Another year of Bennett ball to suffer through.

If this sport could stop shitting on me, that would be wonderful. Depending on who is signed to coach us I might be completely done with the sport altogether.
