as per @I bleed Maroon, their backrow is better than our backrow (gillett glenn thaiday). i just hate the knights guys though.

That's why I hope Garbutt can really kick on with us because he could be that Bromwich or Kasiano style player that we sorely lack.

Have you seen much of him Fourex?

I have watched garbutt in real life the past 2 games for easts, he has mad skills with his passing and offloads. Some of the ball I have seen him pop are brilliant..Only thing of concern is his engine, he does get caught a bit flat footed in defense when he is tired. A full pre-season and more nrl game time may help that.

I agree with most of your names here, mamo and sione are freaks of players. Feeney im not so sure on though, he doesnt like the contact and his kicking game leaves a lot to be desired. Birch is a handy winger who used to be a bronco too. As for the forwards tapine and pondekas are the 2 big ones that wayne should try bring with him, both of these lads are killing it this year. Pondekas should never have been let go in the first place, but we will leave that for another time.

I would love to know how anyone at Triple M learnt about this "impending return" of Boyd to the Broncos, or are they just assuming it's a safe bet since Boyd is tethered to Bennett?

I like to think Bennett isn't that stupid. Barba is younger, more versatile and seems to be taking to the number 6 role pretty well. There is literally no reason to choose Boyd over Barba.

It would be a safe assumption to make (about Boyds return).

I agree that Bennett should not bring Boyd with him. but the rumours of Bennett not being a Barba fan have been around since he signed with us

That's all they ever were, rumors. I've never seen Bennett come out and rubbish Barba, either publicly or not. And why would he dislike him? Put Uate at fullback instead of wing and what do you have? Barba, basically.

I very much doubt Boyd is coming to Brisbane. In fact it MAY have been a contributing factor in his recent troubles, the reality that he may have not even have been wanted by Bennett at the Broncos. Very few people are privy to WBs thoughts or are involved in any way with his decisions. Just because something happens a couple of times does not guarantee it will always happen, it is only an increased chance it will reoccur . Naturally I'm referring to Boyd having followed WB to the Saints then Newcastle. It is possible that WB has decided he would be doing Boyd a favour if he cut the strings, you just never know.

There is no doubt a settled and happy Boyd would be an asset to just about any team, league or union for that matter. If he is well and wants to give of his best for the Broncos then I would have no problem welcoming him home. Be nice if he would do it at mates rates too !!!

I remember there were rumours that Des didn't rate Barba and wanted to sign Brett Stewart. I don't know if that is true or not, but regardless he was able to turn Benny into a Dally M winning player rather than just bring his pet players with him everywhere (Well, aside from his pet dinosaur). He showed his coaching adaptability and superiority by working with what he had and making the best of it.

Bennett should do the same with Barba. If he doesn't then that would, IMO, be his first blackmark as our coach the 2nd time around.

This article states it was Bennett who gave Hoffman his start in 2008.

Take away Barba's playmaking ability and X-Factor and what is the difference between him and Hoffman? Nothing.

I think we should be looking at bringing Taylor in as soon as possible, provided he's as talented as they say he is. He'll be 20 once the season starts next year, if he still "isn't ready" for even a taste, I give up.
