The difference will be that Bennett won't settle for a mediocre Five-Eighth (He's shown that at the Knights, experimenting with a whole bunch of different combinations whilst Mullen was injured), even if Darius somehow miraculously wins the 6 jersey in the off-season, if he doesn't play well in it, he'll be on the wing faster than he can say "But.. Daddy.."

Cause bennett definitely never played stagg, carroll, mcguire or perry in the halves.

also remember a few years back when noone wanted to pay even $500k a year for folau because hes a winger? now some people are justifying paying huge money for boyd, a winger whos not even a quarter of the player folau was lol.

speculation sure. wild? no way. at this stage it is far more likely that boyd will be at brisbane than not purely based on past history and that we know he follows bennett everywhere he goes, and bennett is only too happy to take him.

When he took him to newcastle he was arguable the best fullback in the game, why wouldn't he take him?

I was always a bit of a fan of McGuire for us, but he did hold Barnes back. and if Barnes had gotten some regular game time, who knows what would have happen.

MMM also said this morning (disclaimer - Dobbo) that the Boyd to Brisbane deal is done, that Bennett has been briefed by the NRL on the cap situation (Bennett wants any sanction to be done this year, eg points).

Also "hinted" that some at the club wouldn't be upset if the Milford deal fell through because they have Boyd and need the cap space.

I was always a bit of a fan of McGuire for us, but he did hold Barnes back. and if Barnes had gotten some regular game time, who knows what would have happen.

Barnes probably would have done exactly what every other NRL player who was offered a big money rugby contract did. Leave.

Also "hinted" that some at the club wouldn't be upset if the Milford deal fell through because they have Boyd and need the cap space.

Anyone at the club who thinks we should get Boyd instead of Milford should never be allowed anywhere near the recruitment and retention sections

so let me get this straight ...

when there were articles (with no quotes what-so-ever) last year about Hoffman wanting a release because Barba was coming and likely to take his fullback spot, the majority of people on here started calling him a whinging **** and wanted his blood. but when the article (with no quotes) is about Boyd following Bennett (which would be a good assumption, at worst, since he has done for his entire career) the papers just made shit up.

Those articles (although not having any quotes) were pretty well supporting by his instagram antics, so weren't without substance. If you can't see the difference then you are so blinded by your agenda there is no point continuing this discussion

If we are indeed having a clearing sale then we need to trot Kennedy, Reed, Hoffman, Barba, Lowrie & Stagg onto the lawn, invite other clubs up to have a look at them and go from there. We can stick price tags on them and haggle our way to 1 mill

Fellas its Tiple M. They are the masters of telling absolute bullshit and always have been. Seriously, what is their success rate for player signings? Its like 20%. Take it with a grain of salt. The Milford contract has already been registered and he is coming next year.
