Wayne Bennett related player movement discussion

Re: Darius Boyd return?

Wash your mouth out with soap.

You didn't happen to see the form Brett Stewart was in?

I said arguably... Do you need that soap to wash your eyes?

All I know is Bennett isn't afraid to debut rookies and Griffin is. So that's something in itself to be excited about.

don'y worry at least one of them will come of the bench ... unless Bennett starts them

Your anti-Bennett, pro-Hook crusade is growing tiresome, you are obviously content with futility. You can always become a Titans fan.

Re: Darius Boyd return?

In 2011?

Stewart may have won a premiership with the Sea Eagles but there were plenty of form fullbacks back then - Boyd being one of them.

I'd rate Slater, Bowen, Locke & even Beale right up there that season.

Foordy isn't pro-hook. He has stated many times he wanted hook to go, he just wanted a coach other than bennett because he feels that we need to move on from bennett and he will leave us worse off

Are you his spokesman? What are your thoughts on the subject matter?

Which rookies should Hook have debuted this year?

yeh you completely misread that lol.

Boyd is only there because we have no wingers, because we have been winning, and because Inglis has single handedly put him in for about a dozen untouched tries. hes not a great winger, hes great at being there to put the ball down when inglis gives it to him with no defenders in front of him and the try line 10 metres away.

So you're saying that because Boyd is good at finishing tries and because he's the best winger Queensland has at the moment, that he doesn't deserve to be there?..

I don't even.

Well instead of playing Hoffman at 6 for 15 weeks... Maybe one of the 3 or 4 other halves. Nicholls..Strasser... Nikorima.. Yeah yeah I know. Nikorima isn't ready? Anyone of them would have shown he's not scared to try something new.

No, we're saying that he didn't get there and hasn't kept his position because hes a great winger, he got there because of lack of options at the time, because the QLD selectors are fiercely loyal, and because his huge try tally makes it look like hes the best winger to ever play origin despite him doing literally nothing more than catch and put down in 90% of them.

I'm not sure what your argument is to be honest man, he finishes tries at the highest level, he rarely makes mistakes, he does his fair share of dirty work coming out of trouble, and he's good defensively.

Is there something else you want your winger to be doing?.. How is it his fault that Inglis is amazing and always gets him in open space..

I actually agree with AP for once. Hoffman, or even Scott Minto, would have about as many tries as Boyd has if they'd been playing wing in that QLD team over the past 8 years. In most cases, he hasn't done anything spectacular to score them.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve his spot in the QLD team - he's a solid player who has never let the team down - but sometime I think people get blinded by the amount of tries he scores when determining his skills. Some players score on the back of their own skill, some players score on the back of other players skills. Boyd is the latter imo.

If QLD's was looking for a new winger at the moment to make their debut (so exlcuding the loyalty factor), based on recent form over the past couple of years (and Hoffman was elligible), I'd much rather go with Hoffman than Boyd.

He wants him to not be boyd and not have anything to do with Bennett

Re: Darius Boyd return?

MMM also said this morning (disclaimer - Dobbo) that the Boyd to Brisbane deal is done, that Bennett has been briefed by the NRL on the cap situation (Bennett wants any sanction to be done this year, eg points).

Also "hinted" that some at the club wouldn't be upset if the Milford deal fell through because they have Boyd and need the cap space.

If that didn't come from dickhead Dobbo, I would be fuming at this.

Wow... how havent u got this yet. We are saying, if there were actual, specialist wingers available for QLD that were playing well and we were on the back of a loss or 2, then boyd would probably make way.

Saying boyd is the qld winger and therefore in good form and a good buy fro the broncos etc is not a valid argument, because he is there by default. Get it yet?

I guess I understand what you're trying to get it, but it's completely retarded. Boyd has done more than enough at origin level to remain in the team, plenty of players didn't warrant their origin selection coming into a series based on their club form, yet they perform well on the main stage regardless.

Once again, it has nothing to do with Boyd that Queensland has no other good wingers, he's done the job at that level, and that's why he's still there.

(I feel like you're just going to reply with the same crap again, it's like I'm talking to an Anti-Boyd brick wall)

Boyd has been good for QLD on the wing. Safe, reliable, good finisher...

Inglis hasn't set him up in years. In fact Inglis hasn't really been good himself in years.
