We need a halfback

Maloney to Catalans for threes years im hearing...?

I am happy with dearden, sos and paix being our halves but some have suggested going into the market for a more experienced half.

Maloney is a big game player no doubt but would break the budget. A half who would be available in 2020 who has been decent previously but quiet this year is seizer. I thought his best years were at the titans as the dominant halfishe is an Experienced, left footer with strong kicking game. My concern is the lack of "big game success" but he is an option people havent mentioned, if people were inclined in going to the market.

Would play more games and be cheaper than foran, more aligned to what we need than josh reynolds, who others have discussed.

Walker's contract with the Broncos finished this year, so how wasn't he in our system?

He never had a contract just a scholarship.

ISC but was under the impression he was a part of the Ipswich system that is no longer a part of our system.

He was, played for Jets in the MM this year. Was on a scholarship with Brisbane as a talented kid but no work has been put in, he played for Norths in Ipswich, Jets and IGS.

No Jets aren't a Broncos' feeder club but the juniors are with the Broncos.

Still with Brisbane be it a scholarship or contract.

By the time his contract ends he is 19/20. If he is still showing promise, the broncos could make a play at him then.

By this time we should have a better idea if he is on course to meet his potential, and asses if he is a good fit.
What? We'll see if we can fit in his ass? Or, is his ass a good fit for Seibs schlong?

No they’re not. A scholarship given to a 12 year old is not the same as an NRL contract.
Have a good look at what I said mate!
"Still with Brisbane " be it a scholarship or contract. Didn't compare them in anyway .

be a interesting exercise to see when Boyd, Maccs and Gilletts contracts are up and off the books who the top 3 half are at that time (what are we looking at, 2021-22 I guess..?)

Id imagine if we go with Dearden and SoS we'd have a large portfolio of games played to make the decision to either stick or move on..?

Id say those young group of half the Roosters have may be approaching their prime by then...maybe Dylan Edwards at Parra too...

Seibold said that Dearden is back in full training as of yesterday, and they'll figure out whether to ease him back in through QCup or throw him straight back in the mix.

I wouldnt try to rush him back. Young kid with a few games under his belt, his first injury in first grade and then returning against a melbourne team who will work him over. I dont think it would be best in the long run.

Is it essential he return asap? Is he a difference maker between a win and loss (i.e like lockyer often was)? Not yet. So i would think his return should wait until game fit

If we play good against the Titans with the side as it is, then it's a no brainier to leave this side for the Storm.

The storm will literally try to rip his injured leg off. Leave him another week and the big boys can deal with the dirty grubs.

Also a no brainer to leave the side for the rest of the year, IF they beat the Storm too.
