What’s going wrong with us?

It's definitely the cattle. In the past we had 1-4
"best in position" players . The only one we've had since locky is ummm, no one.

No to Reynolds. The bloke is shit and is now injured most of the year. Blake Austin could be an interesting pickup, he's dominating in the SL apparently but that's not a rarity for Aus players. I still want a proper gun FB like Holmes or Ponga though, even if we have to wait until 2021.

Far out some of these names being thrown around....maybe we are the NRL' s version of the New York Knicks hahaha

We clearly need an experienced half. The only problem is that there aren't many available.

FYI I don't consider Milford or Boyd experienced halves.

Id sign "Cameron Smith" just to piss off Cameron Smith... Imagine the newspaper headlines if "Cameron Smith" was playing shit for the broncos. I could imagine Cameron Smith getting the shits haha

Parker
Hodges

Currently though, there wouldn't likely even be one who is in the top 5 in most positions.

Remembering his brother Scott as the more promising schoolboy player dates me.
I used to play against his other brother Eddie when he played hooker for cannon hill primary school which really dates me.

Haas is imo, not many props make his meterage or play his minutes: I wouldn’t trade him for any prop in the comp when you take his age into consideration. You could make an argument for Lodge, and TPJ has the potential to be if he plays with some consistency. Blokes like Dearden and Fifita could be one day.

It’s the fact that our 9 and 1 are gunning for worst in the comp that kills us.

**** there are some throwbacks there that are still playing: Car-Bureta, Captain Snooze, Pauli Squared and even Gaddeth is still playing at 87

Yes it might be a little ugly (pending how deardon goes becoming an organising half), but looking at that spine and 13. It could/would be a quick team that could play at a high intensity that teams may struggle to match.

But isnt marshall finishing this year? You would think reynolds is back in their first grade next year

He and Farah re-signed for next year I believe.

Go all in on Cameron Smith!

We don't need to start making desperation signings.

Players like Austin, Hastings etc, they aren't going to change anything. They are playing in England for a reason. We just need to wait until the players we do need come off contract and start signing them. Obviously the Broncos have a plan in place offloading all of these players. They are thinking long term. Making desperation signings is how we **** all of that up.

I don’t think so. Heck even post injury Yow Yeh (also another tragic story) has more pace than ‘old man’ Boyd at his “fittest”!

Yeah, bit Hunt fucked the club around when he left, and is a drug using arrogant little ****. The club is so far above him.

How about Josh Reynolds - playing reserve grade for Wests Tigers? Bit of mongrel. Bit o leadership. Bit of talk in the middle. Also Aiden Guerra playing play reserve grade. Experienced forward and Queenslander. Contracts mean nothing now ...
Too injury Prone has played like 5 games for Tigers since being signed 2 years ago with a new injury each time.

Unless we are talking about signing a quality player who will be here long term and fills one of our holes, we are better off not signing anyone and running with what we have. That is, unless the prospect is willing to sign a very short term contract. Otherwise we are recruiting numpties taking up spots in the 30.

At the moment we need a quality fullback, a good centre, n experienced hard head forward who is a leader. If we can get an experienced playmaking half who can mentor our young halves through until they are ready, that would help as well.

agree with your first paragraph, one your second, i don't think we need a center or fullback. at this stage i would be running with a backline of:

1. Milford
2. Oates
3. Staggs/Coates
4. Bird
5. Isaako
6. ??
7. Dearden
