Has anyone noticed how Hunt is braining it now at St Merge? When Walters coached him here in 2015 he had a good season. It was because Walters was out attack coach everyone said at the time. Without Walters he was no good anymore everyone said. We need Walters back as attack coach. We got him but our attack is lost now. Maybe just maybe we already had the 7 we needed and now he is playing for a different coach in a different structure he is going well. Maybe the problem is at the Broncos and it’s not just the attacking coach but the head coach playing the same tired old footy. Year after year. I know we make the finals every year blah blah blah. Truth is we have not looked like the team to beat for many years now....

I can guarantee one thing, if Hunt leads the Dragons to a premiership, the mood around here is going to be the worst in the sites history. Myself personally, I will just be livid at the man himself.

I'd be happy for him. He gave his all at the broncos and one hiccup broke him which to me shows how much it meant to him. If he wins the Comp this year does that prove there's a problem with coaching here?

Hunt is just another Milford, in fact I rate him ahead of Milford as an x-factor type half. I've never been a big fan of Milford, I think he's overrated and massively over paid. At least Hunt always looked like he was giving 110%. Whether that's the truth, I don't know, but I can never shake the feeling Milford doesn't give it his all.

Whether Milford can actually take his game to the next level, and run a team is yet to be seen, but nothing that I've seen of him suggests that he can or has it in him.

Agreed. Was thinking the same. Hunt seems to be a smarter footballer with more levels to his game and is a better leader overall.

This is one of my many gripes as well. A lot of people (rightly at present) give Kodi rubbish but in all honesty, I would so much prefer to let Milford walk (of course he will destroy the Broncs playing against them) and keep Kodi. Kodi is not the guy getting paid a million a year to stink it up. Kodi wants to be at the club, he loves the Broncs and works his butt off. Even in the first ofur games this season, no one can question his effort as he has been often trying way too hard (his ability in the hb role and execution question all you want). He didn't use the Storm's interest to push his price up like Milf did either.

Kodi is probably on a third of what Milf is on and I don't think anyone could argue gives only a third of what Milf offers. Keep Kodi, consider letting Milf walk and bring in an actual halfback, we won't be any worse for it these days.

That said, as mentioned by others, re-signing Boyd for anything over 500k and bringing in Bird on a big contract just makes no sense at all. If Bennett wasn't playing favourites, you could keep both Milf and Kodi AND bring in the halfback this side desperately needs. Then you put one of Kodi / Milf at 1 and the other at 6 and bang, this team becomes something special.

On that point though, I don't even think this current squad is without hope BUT no team whatsoever can carry as many players as this current side is - Boyd, Thaiday, Sims and Gillett. Gillett has the most recent runs on the board so he has no question marks over his head whatsoever. Boyd and Thaiday seriously need to be considering retirement now for this side to become good again. Sims can go anywhere else, the big potato sack - runs as well as one and falls over just as easy. Sure it can be hard to bowl over in defense but so what?
