No, I am not papering over anything. Every side will have injuries at some point, it is a fact of life in football that has to be dealt with. I am more interested in how we got ourselves into a position that we do not have a credible back up hooker, no halfback and absolutely no structure to our play. We won, fantastic, I am pleased, but it was a win based on individual brilliance again, not through great team play. Once again, the only thing consistent about this side is our inconsistency.

But, I will not let my concerns about how the side is playing ruin everyone's sunshine and lollipop moments for a week.

I definitely think we are on the improve. Our mistake rate is still killing us, but when we hold the ball and complete our sets, we are starting to look like serious competitors. Playing inconsistent and winning is better than being consistent and losing. Some of our players are just starting to get their confidence back.......

I would say that is speciality is more being realistic about where the current team is and not acting like a fucking baby every time we don’t look like the best team in the competition.

I am quietly hopeful that they are going to start building towards something this season in the next 4 to 8 rounds. But realistically I think we are a couple of pieces missing from being a genuine premiership contender.

The future is looking pretty bright if we can retain our younger talent.

Halves were pretty much useless. Which is the thing that has me in a state of constant irritation. Pretty soon they are going to "gang up" on Oates to stop him at which point, as far as I can see, the team will have nothing.

Last night only reinforced my opinion that in signing Bird, Milford and Boyd to large, long-term contracts, Wayne's cognitive functions are not working as well as they should be considering his position.

Wrong, I think people are too heavily influenced by the media when they ignore the FACTS (eg squad numbers of players under Bennett still there, setting up development camps, no back ended deals signed whilst Bennett was there, the knights best result in 10 years) and straight away regurgitate the crap/OPINIONS being said by the agenda driven media.

Let me give you a lesson in evidence.... FACTS always outweigh OPINION. That's the reason Kent got his ass handed to him on this very topic by Paul Crawley on nrl 360 just 2 weeks ago, he had no facts to back up his bullshit, Crawley (on bennetts side) did. If you provide me with FACTS to back up your claim I would happily debate you, otherwise there's no point...

A few weeks when Brown made his comments which I found very amusing, many people, players, player managers, club officials, journalists and others came out and said mostly said his (Brown's) personal comments were uncalled for but it was true Bennett had left Newcastle in a terrible mess as far as the roster and salary cap was concerned. I mean, after signing Buderus, Smith, Scott, Mason, Tahu, Fa'alogao, Cuthbertson, and the icing on the the cake, a 35 or 36 year-old Craig Gower to a squad which already contained Gidley, Mullen, Houston, McManus, Taia, Costigan and I'm sure others (enough Wikipedia research for me on this. I really have some work to do or I will fall behind:angry:) was patently absurd and it's obvious why Brown was obviously furious about Bennett's comments.

I looked at our Pool of Players currently. Thaiday does not make my team for the starting 17 unless major injuries.

We still have Gillett to come back and Sua, Offa, TJP, Lodge, Moose, Glenn, Sims and Haas all offer better performances when firing...Probably for the first time since 15 have we had a strong mobile pack. We are a little bit spoilt for choice.

Yes, we sure will be a top 4 team by end of Round-12 especially with 4 straight home games.

1 thing that worries me though is, we lost our last 2 home games. Fingers crossed it stopped with the game against the cheaters last week & from next week, it's all a big 'W' for all the games we play at Suncorp for rest of season. We are in for a sweet ride ahead.
