Where have the true centres gone?

I cannot fathom that anyone could think Hodges is even nearly as good as Inglis. Inglis isnt even at his best atm and hes carving up. Before injury in origin 2 it looked like he was going to win the game alone. Inglis has dominated at origin for 2 years now. I cant EVER remember Hodges playing even 1 outstanding origin game. Toughest games of the year, and inglis shines, whereas hodges has never looked like even coming close.

Yes, Hodges at his best is great, but he doesnt have the speed or fend of inglis, and lets be honest, can anyone even remember the last time hodges played for more than 5 games in a row, let alone remember what his best form is even like

Typical response from a Storm fan.

Didn't you watch the 2006 series? Hodges was our best in game 1 (in fact was pretty much our only good player) and was outstanding in game 2. Missed game 3 because of injury.

Argue all you like about whether or not he is as good as Inglis, but to say he has never ever played a good Origin game is just ignorant.

And for the record - yes when Hodges is at his best form, he's every bit as good and influencial as Inglis.

lol, cant argue with someone that thought michaels was going to be a star player.

and ftr, i never said he hasnt played a good game, i said he has never played an oustanding game, one where ppl will remember his performance forever, one that goes down in history, much like inglis' last year in game 2. hodges has never done that, and the only thing ppl will ever remember about him and origin is his debut .. FACT.

Pure and simple, hodges is too injury prone (hmm ppl used to ridicule SBW and marshall for the same trait) to get his best form. we can debate who is better at peak form, but its a moot point. Hodges is too weak to stay on the field long enough

LOL. Just because i know slater is a better player than Hunt (it still surprises me some of u thick ***** havent caught on to this yet) and Inglis is better than hodges makes me a storm fan lol. Im a hodges fan too, but its so obvious that his form in the last few years has been so below par while Inglis just continues to rise.

regardless, its pathetic ppl are claiming hodges is our saviour. most of the tries we got last night were down michaels and wintersteins side. Hodges played a good game, but didnt do anything out of the ordinary. If anything, dave taylor was our saviour

also, a lol at jeb. In Hodges' BEST ORIGIN GAME, inglis scored 2 tries, hodges none. Even in hodges best origin game ever inglis still dominated

Why bring Slater into this are you insecure about his ability under the high ball or maybe how he handles pressure?? I agree Hodges had a bad year last year but 2006/07 Hodges was the best centre on the planet. Also Taylor is only the saviour if he consistently plays like he did last night..

I wasnt the one that brought the storm into the argument in the first place was i einstein.

And i agree with you about taylor needing to play consistently. Thats why i posted in the first place. Rocky mentioned that hodges was our saviour. he played a decent game and all of a sudden hes the reason we won! EPIC LULZ

Haha righto then, in Inglis's best game, Boyd got 2 tries, so Boyd played better going by that logic. Hodges was voted players' player in the game where Inglis scored 2 tries (and also missed an easy tackle on Gasnier that led to Finch's try and dropped a sitter on the bounce when it was kicked to him).

I can't fathom anyone suggesting Inglis is THAT much better than Hodges. Certainly he's been more visibly dominant in Origin, but in the club arena and Test arena Hodges has been his equal and been doing it for longer.

Hodges hasn't been great for a couple of years, but some people seem to forget how good he used to be.

PS: He's still a wanker.

LOL I would take Hodges at the Broncos any day. Inglis is MIA in so many CLUB games, he's usually always great at origin but at club level he has s o many games where you forget he's even on the field. Hodges at club level is very influential for the Broncos is in everything always trying his hardest his biggest weakness is his injuries, I just wish he was on the field every week.

At their best I'd say they are on par, week to week I'd take Hodges.

I love Justin Hodges. Don't care if he's a tosser, he's been a great servant for the Broncos IMO. He tries really hard, sometimes too hard - but he never sits back and just watches it happen which Inglis does seem to do. If you can't give him this - well, you're never going to give him anything then. Personally, I think it's harsh to be a hater of Hodges when you are a Broncos fan, he's done so much for the club on the field since he's arrived here.

Anyway - I'd love to see Inglis on a week to week basis at the Broncos - I just don't think he gets the quality service he gets in rep games from the Storm. It's obvious Thursto and Locky want to give him some good pill so he can do his stuff. Doesn't seem to happen at the storm on a consistent basis apart from one-off set plays or lucky one on one misses by the opposition. Maybe they might get Finch to throw him some ball in the finals.

Inglis has more ability, can't deny that I suppose. Hard to pick him over Hodges when you're a Broncos fan IMO.

Nice to see Michaels looking like he's starting to regain his form at last. Hope it continues.

I thought he did just that v Warriors.

I thought it was a huge improvement from Michaels I hope it's the start of him regaining his form from last year when I thought he was a very good player. If he can return to last years form I'll be very happy!
