Its of concern if this is being enacted.
Yes, if his management misled him into signing a contract the contract could be voided, but if the issue is solely about the timing and the commission, not the nature or terms of the football contract, you would think it shouldn't be impacted.I don't think they will void his contract when he goes to court. It's more likely his previous management will have to compensate him financially.
Win games and they will come. Simple as that.Lets say that you get players like Coates and Haas who are apparently willing to go to winning clubs for more of a chance to win premierships (and we know this isn't accurate either as they are getting benefits elsewhere), how do struggling clubs battle this? They cannot offer the culture or potential for upward trajectory which leads to less sponsorships and they will never be able to recover. We are different because our off-field idiots screwed the club up over 1-2 decades, it is own fault. But for clubs like the Tigers, how do they compete when whatever kids they do have coming through just go elsewhere?
The Broncos also had the best third party deals going around.Just to expand on the above.
Look at clubs like Penrith, and Melbourne, and even the Rorters, these are clubs filled with players who want to win premierships first and foremost for their club, and the money is secondary (this is particularly true for the Panthers and Melbourne).
Players go to these clubs for unders because there is a both a legitimate chance at a premiership and a culture of club unity.
I remember when the Broncos were like that, and we almost never missed the eight.
There was a sense of club loyalty and pride and people wanted to be a part of that regardless of the pay.
When that culture ended, we went downhill and the decline has only just started slowing because Donuts and Ikin have started removing those elements that foster that mercenary culture of being bigger than the club.
This is true. The Broncos also had the best third party deals going around.
I think after what happened with Melbourne, all the clubs (including us), went really cautious on 3rd party deals. It's not as big as it used to be.This is true.
Has that changed?
Still a one team town for the moment, so they would have the monopoly on that.
How can he shop him around with three years left on the contract, surely that's breaking some rules somewhere in the NRL?Confirmed Haas agent is actively shopping him around. Sauce is worried Haas has already decided and will derail the rest of the season. Rooster have knocked him back on 1mil. Unsure of details below that.
Talking about "future options beyond current contract".How can he shop him around with three years left on the contract, surely that's breaking some rules somewhere in the NRL?
I see, still, its 3 years away, and talk of derailing the season speaks of being a hell of a lot sooner than the end of his contract.Talking about "future options beyond current contract".
If his head is elsewhere it could impact his game. How can he shop him around with three years left on the contract, surely that's breaking some rules somewhere in the NRL?
Also, how would he derail the rest of the season? If he plays below what he has been putting in week in week out, wouldnt that also be a breach of contract or rules that would see him de-registered?
Sure, but he did just come out publicly and say he is leaving all that stuff to his management so he can focus on his footy. If his head is elsewhere it could impact his game.
