I hope to be proven wrong, but I hold grave concerns over this halves pairing. Particularly if this is any indication of our plans to cover a Ben hunt in the season proper.

I see both kodi and milf as dynamic, running halves. I think both will struggle enormously to guide our team through sets, and control the match with tactical kicking if it gets into a grind. I expect many a poor 5th tackle option.

I know little to none about sam Scarlett and Todd Murphy, but I'd have thought Nicholls a clever choice here with kodi remaining bench utility. He seems an experienced , level headed genuine team directing half. Perfect to complement Anthony. I assumed this was our reason for bringing him back.

I'm not surprised by the halves and bench utility choice, but disappointed.

Yeah well said actually, I would've been keen to see a Milford / Scarlett pairing or even Milford / Nichols, just for arguments sake if we ever lost one of our halves for an extended period, at least we'd know if one of them was up to it.

But it'll be controlling the tempo of the match. And the end of sets on the fifth where nothing is particularly on or we're confined to our own half that concern me

Last year it was shown live on GEM.

My guess is it'll be on sometime in the early hours of Sunday the 21st.

Yeah I got up at 4:30am last year to watch it on Gem (didn't check the Foxtel guide) watched the game and then realised it was on Fox1 at 8:30am!! Trap for young players...

Hi FGfrom50 .While it has not been announce publicly as yet, take it as fact, this game will be televise on Nine Network. Please don't bother asking me where I find this out. Lets just say a little birdy from the network tell me ;). Enjoy the game.

It's certainly a valid point. As far as the regular season is concerned, I think your reservations are well founded.

Regarding the WCC, I think we'll manage. Provided our pack can get a roll on, we have the attacking weapons to exploit a retreating defensive line. Backing Roberts, Milf and Niko to cause them major headaches. If Blair and Cozza get their offload on, watch out.

Actually, I'm probably keenest to see how Opacic and/or Eden perform, as well as Ese'ese. Our 17 is pretty solid already, but some additional class out wide and an impact forward would be icing on the cake.

We should be able to win this game with a dominant forward pack performance and solid defence, however I think the result will be closer than people think....the pitch also makes a significant difference.

A friend of mine who works with the Jillaroos spoke to Sam Thaiday in Auckland and he said they'll get one day at home before they're off the UK.

He also said that he personally only gets 2 days at home all up in the 3 1/2 - 4 week period of the 9s, All Stars and WCC. It must be tiring heading into Round 1 on that kind of timetable.
