Well said JW.

One of the things that irks me is the hypocricy. People whinge about how Australian, English and Kiwi rejects play for other teams. So let's say we change that.

I think this is the genius of the World Cup.

Imagine you are playing for Samoa or PNG and you have regualr NRL stars in your team. Players will come out of this tournament a million times better players, playing against decent opposition iwth decent team mates and decent coaches.

I have no doubt a handful of players will be scooped up by clubs wiht a view of them playing NRL.

Absolutely Jester. The positives of the World Cup far outweigh any negatives.

The stagnation of international league has been evident the last 8 years since the 2000 WC, other than the big three with the Tri Nations.

Tonga and Samoa have really really strong squads. Fiji ain't too bad either.

Honestly I could see the Tongans or Samoans knocking off the Kiwis.

Agreed Mick, looks decent.

Going along with what others have said, if any of the better sides aren't on their game there could be some upsets for the taking, or at least a tight contest.

Hunt, Thaiday, Myles, Ryles and Harrison are the most ****ed up omissions IMO. I can understand Hunt and Thaiday I guess, due to the investigations, but WTF at the other 3?

Investigations?

I would understand it due to their form. Call a spade a spade dude. Slater is 1000 times the fullback Hunt is, this season.

Yep. Getting together in a toilet together with another teammate bonking a chick is poor form. Just ask Bundy Bear.

Whatever you do, don't mention that they aren't the best in their respective positions....blame another reason [icon_wink

Mick, re Williams, ok fair enough if he is in the minnow games. I would definetly be upset if he pips Falou/Tate/Mongahn for the First XIII wing spot.

Reality:
Hunt > Stewart.
Thaiday > Stewart.

Fact:
Manly > Broncos.

Selectors' opinion:
Match fitness > talent

Hope that helps.

Point to note: selectors rarely pick the BEST players, just a group of players that will, in their and the coach's opinion, work best together.
