He is recovering from an injury - broken leg or something like that IIRC.

Can't believe that Fai Fai Loa has been demoted for the likes of Graham and Winterstein to have spots instead.

How is the old summerpot going after last season out? I guess we'll see on Friday night.

Well he's been named on the bench, so I don't think that answers the question.

It's hard to say when Civ might get his first starting berth. I'd have him starting as soon as possible.

I think he'd be getting a look in around the 25 minute mark for this game.

Being named on the bench doesn't mean anything IMO. players are always getting named on the bench then starting and vice versa

Being named on the bench means you'll start on the bench 9.5 times out of 10.

I know it wasn't you, Beads that said it, but it seems "the bench" seems to have some sort of lesser status. Like, "relegated" to the bench?

I think that misses the point of "the bench". Is Gillett, possibly the most talented player in the team, relegated? Or is he being used tactically for impact? Same for McGuire.

I thought the subject of the bench, and player rotation as a key tactical element of the game plan has already been aired well and truly in these forums.

In Civo's case, the bench may well be used to give him a break for the most intense part of the game - the opening 20 minutes. However, from next week, he should be in the starting side. That is where his impact lies.

I can't believe Ash Graham still has a spot in the side, he's the Ben Pomeroy of the Cows! But I'm not displeased about it at all hahaha.

Graham's not a bad player. He's solid enough on the wing.

To be fair he had a good season last year. And prior to that I thought he was one of the worst players in the comp.

With the rumour mill churning out that T'eo is off to the Bulldogs do you think Hook will use him much or at all??

If it is true give somone else a go we have so much talent in the back row.

I don't read much into rumours anymore. If half of the rumours involving us were even remotely true we would have DCE, Thurston, Berrick Barnes, Quade Cooper and $BW all battling it out for the 6

I'm pretty confident that he has photos of Neil Henry in a comprimising situation.... it's the only explanation I can come up with.

I think you people are overlooking at how Brisbane weren't great in there encounter with Parramata last week and should have improved this round not just Cowboys.

1 - If you read the posts in these forums, I think it's very clear that we are not overlooking that Brisbane were not great last week. Room for improvement, no doubt. We all know that. But they were not diabolical either; there are some promising signs.

2 - You really need to learn how to construct a sentence - that post was dreadful

It just goes back to a point that really should go without saying - you can't judge teams on first round performances. You just have to look at 2006 for a glaring example.

I just hope for a clear night. Would really like to see how we perform when we're allowed to play an expansive brand of football and to see if it has any effect on Norman's game.

Tommorow night's game will most likely be played in dry conditions and this will a much better indaction of the current broncos team.

Tomorrow's game will be a very good indication of how Norman is progressing (or otherwise) in his role of playmaker, how well the defence handles Thurston, Scott & Bowen, and whether we give Hodges and Gillett enough space to shred their defence.

Whatever the result, I don't think this Broncos team will give a really true indication of what it can do until at least Rd. 5

Great to see Petro getting into the starting line-up.
