Teams for Game II

Barba will be hard pressed to play with Slater still playing.

DCE offers more versatility at this stage IMO.

Yeah, I'd take DCE over Barba off the bench 100 times out of 99.

Also I wouldn't have a problem starting with Big Papa. I just think he's a much better player than the other options right now, even if he hasn't proven himself on the big stage.

Hannant and Parker may have just played Harrison and Shillo out of their jerseys... For the first time in a while I don't know what the selectors are gonna throw out there tomorrow. DCE on the bench? With Thursto and Cronk hitting form, they might opt out of that. Parker WILL push Ash at least to the bench, if not out. Shillo for mine deserves another chance as I expect him to really stand up, but Papa's knocking down the door so I'm not convinced he'll get that chance.

Excited for tomorrow in any case.

I think we'll see 1 change and a big reshuffle.

Myles to prop, Shillo to bench.
Parker to lock, Harrison out, Papalii in.

What the hell is Thaiday thinking at the moment ?!?

Asked whether he thought Ben Hannant should be included in the Origin side for game 2, he's gone on record as saying he thinks hannant should play a couple more games for the Broncos first.

I mean really, is he serious ???

I'm gonna go ahead and guess McQueen and Harrison out, Hannant and Papalii in. Seems like the most sensible change up.

When Thaiday was asked if Hannant should be chosen by Queensland on Tuesday, however, he said: “Let him play a few games for the Broncs first.
“I really think personally he needs to prove himself here and stay on the field. He’s getting older, he’s getting a few little niggling injuries but that’s not my decision.
“I’d like to see him play some outstanding footy for the Broncs first.”
he thinks hannant needs to "prove himself" at the broncos before origin...... how about YOU prove yourself thaiday? youve done shit all for YEARS. easily the most overrated player in the entire league. also funny that he played the age card - hannant is 6 months older than thaiday lol.

thaiday cant tackle for shit, hasnt done a decent hitup in years, and is the worst captain in the comp. and here he is bagging someone who just had a great game.

Few leaks out on Twitter now

Todd Balym@toddbalym1m
Ash Harrison has been dropped for Origin II. Mal Meninga phoned him personally yesterday to break the news to him.

Wackos Whispers@WackosWhispers8m
Whispers around QLD to make 2 changes to Team. Papili in and starts, DCE on bench with A.Harrison and Shillington dropped

I wanted Harrison gone, but very surprised they did it! Hes been a great player for us but his time is up especially with the form parker is showing. I really think McQueen shouldve been dropped for DCE, now we only have 1 actual prop in the team! Crazy

I think dropping Harrison is the way to go, especially seeing as though we have Parker who can more than fill the spot, and is in better form.

Papalii in is a no-brainer. Aggression/intimidation are things we are missing from our pack at the moment, and he'll have more than one NSW forward looking out for him in the line.

Shillington needs to sit down and watch Mike Tyson tapes and learn how to get some mongrel in him !!!

I really don't like not having a prop on the bench.

It's fucking atrocious. How good did we go in game one without an extra prop?

If shillington is dropped, we have ONE specialist prop.

He did the same thing when asked about McGuire which I understood because McGuire might get big headed, still a new comer, etc. But to say Hannant needs to prove himself is ridiculous, Hannant has been really good this year and is an Australian/QLD rep, he's not a new kid who has to prove himself. Don't understand what Thaiday was thinking saying that.

Lol Thaiday. I actually have doubts he is mobile enough for the second row position these days...and he's also one of the laziest players in the comp, which just hurts us defensively. But then he's very inconsistent in the front row too, but I still think that's his position these days. But he's definitely not better than Scott, Shillington, Myles or Hannant there.

So the Maroons are going into game 2 with only 1 specialist prop in the 17....

Good bye streak.

1. Billy Slater (Melbourne Storm)
2. Darius Boyd (Newcastle Knights)
3. Greg Inglis (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
4. Justin Hodges (Brisbane Broncos)
5. Brent Tate (North Queensland Cowboys)
6. Johnathan Thurston (North Queensland Cowboys)
7. Cooper Cronk (Melbourne Storm)
8. Matt Scott (North Queensland Cowboys)
9. Cameron Smith (c) (Melbourne Storm)
10. Nate Myles (Gold Coast Titans)
11. Chris McQueen (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
12. Sam Thaiday (Brisbane Broncos)
13. Corey Parker (Brisbane Broncos)
14. Daly Cherry-Evans (Manly Sea Eagles)
15. Ben Te’o (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
16. Matt Gillett (Brisbane Broncos)
17. Josh Papalii (Canberra Raiders)
18. Martin Kennedy (Sydney Roosters)

Surely they could've dropped McQueen for Hannant ??

Looks a bit light up front for mine.
