If I was Milf, I would sign a 1 year, $1m dollar contract with the Raiders for 2014, and put in the contract from my side "possibility of extension with the Canberra raiders", then become a Bronco for 2015!

Everyone wins. hahahahaha

A friend and i were having a discussion about how many games the milf had played. Upon wiki-ing the future superstar, i saw that he has kicked a few goals over his short career. Anyone know if he is any good? Any chance he could kick for us next year?

The biggest problem with the NRL's round 13 rule is not so much the speculation and endless media BS it leads to, but rather the fact that a club has to keep money free for the player they have signed, and if that player then renegs on the deal, the club may have missed out on other available players they could have signed if they had the money free (instead of being tied up with a player who has reneged on the contract. therefore they may have the money free again but have missed the boat on other suitable players)

This, agree 100% the round 13 rule needs to go,

LOL if the broncos don't like the round 13 rule they could always wait until after round 13 to officially sign players.

LOL, if the Raiders don't like having their players poached, maybe they should move away from Australia's arsehole.

As a raiders fan.

I would prefer to see him poached from QLD.

Then I would like to watch:-
- Andrew Gee try and conduct a homesickness scheme to get him at the broncos in 2014, only to watch it fail and see the funny stuff that gets written on here and the courier mail about it.
- Then watch milford sign a contract with his hometown club only to take a dump on the contract because he comes to his senses and decides to say with the club that has looked after him and his career thus far.

But then maybe it won't happen, maybe he will end up at the broncos and I can have fun booing him.

With all due respect, if Milf decides to stay in Canberra it would have nothing to do this, it'll all be about the $$$$$

As a Broncos fan I would prefer the Raiders fans get off their high horse about "their players" being stolen. Just go back and look at how many ex-Broncos you guys have bought and how many we have got from you guys.

The Raiders would not have been able to field their premiership sides of the 90's if it wasn't for Queensland imports they brought down.

Their argument is mute and every sporting club around the world buys and recruits talent from outside their boundaries.

Sooo it's all about cash, but if the Raiders offer him a truck load more cash then he still comes home to Brisbane it will be because he wants less money.

Interesting concept, elaborate if you could, you may have the answer to the salary cap issues and don't even know it.

hey guys first time poster here but been lurking the forums for around 1 and half years.

i finally decided to make a post because i feel some of us here on bhq seem to be getting a little nervous about this whole milf situation.

One thing i think we should remember is milf is still extremely young and although i have no doubt the kids has talent and can become a superstar there is no guarantee . i mean i been watching all his games closely and can any of us say hes really been better then what barba and hayne where when they hit there amazing purple patch? and look at them now , there still good players but no were near the level that they were on those particular years.

dont get me wrong the kid is good and could become anything but that doesnt mean hes guaranteed to be one of the best players around in the future.

to me his best assest atm is his sheer speed. but you have to realise once opponents figure him out hes not gonna be getting the time and space hes currently been given.

so i guess my point is if we do lose milf because of the crazy amount of money canberra throw at him i hope we all keep a level head and dont turn into other fans (e.g. bulldogs, canberra) and abuse the hell out of the poor kid for accepting that insane amount of money for a young player that still could be either an amazing player or just a good player.

One thing we have to realise is even with out milford our future looks very promising we have some amazing young halves in lower grades and ben hunt imo is getting better and better each game he plays.

So no matter what happens guys i think we should stay posititive and know that the broncos have a good shot of winning the comp within the next few years were as canberra will probably not win another competition in the next 20 weather they have milf or not.

To be fair even Broncos fans in this thread are saying he'll be able to earn more money in Brisbane, maybe not from the actual contract but from other sources.

In the kicks I've seen, they were in a pretty good position so they weren't difficult kicks. It's hard to say just how good he is as he rarely kicks. It is an option, though. I would definitely explore it as I don't think Parker is the right person.

About Parker standard you don't want to be relying on them to win a game, we were hanging for Croker to resume kicking.

I think fullback is his best position. His running game is far and away his best asset, and for most teams that's what the fullback is all about in attack.

On the other hand, right now we are playing with one half, a "hybrid" at fullback who can't seem to figure out his role quite yet and a literal winger at 5/8th, so I have no idea what's going on in this bizzaro world.
