This upcoming season is the most optimistic I've felt in years.

I hope the team deliver

I don't subscribe to the whole "We demand a premiership, Wayne Bennett must deliver it or he's a failure" **** and bull ... the NRL is far too even for that nowadays and in the end premierships come down to luck with injuries, a lucky bounce, luck with referees or just being lucky enough to be playing your best football in those final few weeks and then having all of the aforementioned also running your way... it's largely a crapshoot.

It's certainly not like the 90s when you could develop a talented list and keep all the ones you wanted to be career players at your club...

IMO all you can really ask for nowadays is for the process to be right at your club so you're giving yourself the best possible chance of being in a position to be in the right place at the right time to snatch a premiership ... And imo, that's where the Broncos are now at for the next three years

Well, the away jersey's been released. I'll let everyone debate how brilliant/awful it is.

Am I the only one who doesn't really care how our jersey looks?

Nope.

As long as it's the right colour, I'm cool with it.

The only jersey I really disliked was that Aqua one we'd wear circa 2001-02.

I would have preferred all gold with the maroon side, but I don't hate that one.

It's not the best, but I much prefer that one over the home jersey.

TRAVIS Waddell’s move to the Broncos has forced Samoan Test hooker Michael Sio to take his quest for an NRL contract to North Queensland. The exciting 22-year-old prospect, who has already featured in a World Cup and the recent Four Nations, was in the final stages of talks with Brisbane’s Intrust Super Cup affiliate Souths Logan Magpies before opting to head north to join the Mackay Cutters.
Souths Logan coach Josh Hannay said Sio’s aspirations to push for an NRL position with the club were dampened by the Broncos’ acquisition of Waddell for the 2015 season.

“Speaking to his manager it came down to the fact Mackay could guarantee a spot in his preferred position for the entire season while we couldn’t,” Hannay said.
“With Travis being an affiliated player of ours through Brisbane there is a chance he will come back to play for us through the year.”
Waddell, 26, will be aiming to use the Magpies to compete with current Brisbane hooker Andrew McCullough for a place in the Broncos NRL line-up after following coach Wayne Bennett from Newcastle.
“I’d love the opportunity to coach Travis, but we hope we don’t see too much of him because we hope he will be playing more NRL football,” Hannay said.
“We want the best for him. He is still only young and has the best footy in front of him.”

Sio garnered interest from numerous clubs and will be hoping to use the Cutters to stake his own claim for a berth with a Cowboys team yet to settle on its hooker.
He will join former Broncos rake Jake Granville, Cameron King, Rory Kostjasyn and Ray Thompson in the chase for the No.9 jersey in Townsville.
“Michael is a very dedicated young footballer who had success at 20s level,” Hannay said.
“He has got the ability to be an NRL player and wants to put himself in the best possible situation to enhance his claims for it.
“The hooker role is up for grabs and it is going to be a hotly contested spot.”

I don't know much about this Sio (as i didn't see any Samoan games), but I have seen enough of Waddell to know he is a complete nuffie and shouldn't be costing us any players, especially a young hooker that has already played international footy (even if it was just Samoa)

We need someone to put some sort of pressure on Maccas spot, it seems to be the only time he plays really good footy. Unfortunately for us, Waddell just doesn't do that.

Foordy, Sio was so bad they had McGuire play ahead of him.

If anything, good for Waddell.

fair enough, never even heard of him before today. I just know how shit Waddell is ... maybe we can find another back up rake somewhere that has the potential to put pressure on Maccas spot ...
