We concede a huge tactical advantage with our respective kicking games, and fluency in attack between the halves and backline is also in their favour. Plus Reynolds vs Parker for goal kicking...
Despite their reputation, I think we can hold our own relatively well up front, but I don't see us winning, given the above.
Give us some time to gel, and I think we could match them later on the year. Just a bridge too far in round 1.

It's hard to fear their pack as much without Sam Burger, who had arguably the best year for a forward in like a decade last year. It's still tops though. Our pack looks better now too.

If Souths experience the hangover from traveling to the other side of the world and back, that could work in our favor.
But I will admit that WCC win worried me. I know St Helens were missing players, but they would not have made any difference..

Yeah look this was always going to be a really hard match. I'm not really worried about opposition, I know what to expect from them. We just have to go out there and put in a good effort.

Adam Reynolds is so overrated, it's not funny. He has nothing other than his kicking game, which admittedly is terrific...
It will be a good tough test, but they're not the boogeyman some people think they are, especially without Sam Burgess.

It's true that Adam Reynolds is just known for the kicking game so far, but at the same time Ben Hunt is just known for his blind side runs and Milford is known for his support play. So it's not like he have an advantage in the halves either.

Look,I realise Souths looked wonderful in their win over the Poms this morning, but, for some reason, I think we can pull together and get an upset win against the Bunnies.
Bennett is well renowned for being able to fire he's teams up when required and I think his going to have us primed for a big performance first up.
I'm tipping Broncos by 8 in this one and I cannnot wait!

I think Hunt has shown more than blind side runs, and Milford hasn't had time to show anything just yet in the halves. I'd easily have either of them before Reynolds. In fact, there are plenty other halves I'd have before him too.

Glenn Stewart is a good ball player, even if he pretty much sucks at everything else. Stick him on Reynolds' side to help him out.

I like to be optimistic, but no, we won't win, Souths are the best team in the world by far, and we are an entirely new squad, with a new coach.

souths look fit and sharp but i think we can take it to them. the result this morning doesnt really worry me.
they have advantages in fluency and kicking game, but if we defend well, and are strong through the middle (both of which were impressive in our WCC match), we can definitely steal a win.
