Manly dragged it out for months, that was obvious when they went and signed the likes of Myles and there was all this speculation about Toovey. They're an absolute shambles of a club who struggle to see the forest from the trees.

Now we know why heaps of Manly players dislike him. (even though DCE says the story is false)

I'm all for people ragging on DCE for the foreseeable future, but seriously.. Tallis? Didn't he walk out on the Dragons and even sit out a season.. What a hypocrite

Depends on who you believe.

You got remember this was in the middle of the Super League War and this sort news we're losing our minds over like the DCE deal was day to day if not, hour by hour news back then.

With Gordie, he got word that St George were merging with the Roosters. Phil Gould was going to be the coach and thought Tallis was a hack so Gordie went to Geoff Carr who gave him his word that he'd get a release by the end of the year.

Fast forward and Carr is no longer with the Dragons, and the new owner Brian Johnstone tells Tallis he isn't going anywhere.

I think it's shocking what he has done, but at the end of the day he has done what's best for his family, which is something I think the majority of people would do.

Hope the NRL salary cap auditors go through Manly's books.

To be truthful, I don't really care. What pisses me is how much of NRL 360 is being wasted on a non story. He signed a contract, everyone knew it had a counter offer feature and why is anyone surprised that that counter offer feature has had an influence ? Time to move on.

He's entitled to do it, and I have absolutely no respect left for the ****, and wish he wasn't a Queenslander, but there is a silver lining, in that he screwed over a NRL administered club, who were amateurish enough to have the stupid rule in place.

Having said that, I don't buy the family excuse and I don't buy the contract for life excuse. He signed a contract and back flipped on it, which means his word and honor can be bought and mean jack shit.
That makes him the poorest excuse for a human being, and I really hope karma comes back to haunt him.

It will be interesting to see what effect it has on his game in the short term , if any.

It's a dick move at this stage after the titans have offloaded players to make room for him. But either way I don't follow the titans or manly.
I still think DCE is over rated and Qld might have won last year with Ben Hunt in game 2 of origin instead of a half fit DCE.

Classic Porthoz...over blown, over reactive, emotional, irrational and totally disproportionate to the 'offence'. The rule was in place and he didn't break any rules yet this makes him the 'poorest excuse for a human being' ! So by extension there are no poorer human beings. What he did according to this insane reasoning is the same as rapists, murders etc.....how utterly ridiculous !

The other thing that is disturbing is that you actually wish ill will on a person for a perceived wrongdoing which has absolutely nothing to do with you. What sort of human being are you ? DCE is a saint compared to someone who wishes 'karma'( pain and suffering obviously )

Not once did you accuse any other players who did exactly the same thing. Blame the NRL for a bad rule not someone who suffered under the rule. The other thing, try reading what the word 'perspective' means ffs.

Welp, you have to feel for whatever fans the Titans have left tonight. They would be hurting. It really doesn't say much for Cherry Evans credibility when he dangles himself in front of them like a carrot on a string for months then slips out the back door when Manly flash him the cash.

Poor form.

Oh please, spare me the indignation. You seem to think that I care what your opinion is about me...

I don't know about you, but I value someone's word and honor highly. In fact, no price can be put on mine.

I maintain that what he did to the Titans, how and especially when he did it, is the lowest of acts (in professional sports). I say this regardless of how much I dislike them, and I do... I mean, they have Greg Bird in their ranks after all.

All of this has indeed to be put into perspective, which you seem to know the meaning of, but not its application.
Everything I said has to be read within the context of the situation of course, that should really speak for itself. But you saw the author of the opinion and just couldn't resist to get your jab in... as usual.

I know there are worse people, murderers, rapists, etc... I also don't wish him to be tortured or jailed for this, but that doesn't make him more of an excuse for a human being.
Again, my karma remark is in relation to the offense, meaning that I hope neither him nor Manly ever get a reward for this (other than the $10M he is getting from them), and suffer nothing but a lot of heartbreak (in sporting terms of course). I despise them both, and really... they are perfect for eachother. A scum player at a scum club!

Yeah plus one on this, he's the most honourable **** I know
I had to laugh at that... second time in as many days! You're making it hard for me to hate on you. :thefinger:
