It's a credit to Josh and the way he's come back from this achillies injury. Sitting on the sideline would had to have been the worst feeling during the 2015 Grand Final and I'm just glad there was a silver lining for Josh.

Earlier in the year I decided to jazz up a thread on Josh to draw in a discussion. Fair play to Josh, his form so far this season has made me look foolish and the other BP (aka Black Phillip aka the real BP) was 100% right. I honestly didn't think he could get much better...and then Josh McGuire did.

It's not that I'm even impressed as a Broncos fan, from an Australian perspective Mal has got it 100% right and he's rectifying the wrongs Tim Sheens made two years ago.

I should clarify that I don't mind Ferguson on the wing. I actually think that's his natural position, but he's been moved to the centres to justify his pay cheque. It's similar to Israel Folau and Joel Monaghan in that sense. My concern is actually pairing him with a player like Duges as his right hand centre. I guess Mal felt like Jennings played on the left or not at all but the jury is out on Duges. For Australia's sake, I hope he has a big game.

Same goes for Papalii. I have a ton of question marks over his defence and ability to protect JT - hopefully he answers them.

Really happy that McGuire is getting the recognition he deserves. Such an awesome player.

In any case, I'll be cheering on the Broncos boys, but I'm hoping the Kiwis win.

The only changes I would have made is for Inglis to play right centre and bring in Jennings with Fergusen out and Dugan to the wing. Actually, I would have had Oates in instead of Radradra because I simply hate the fact he qualifies for Australia and could have done so much for the international game sticking with Fiji. That said, since he has been picked, I would have Jennings inside and had Oates shift to right wing outside Inglis with Dugan and Fergusen nowhere near the side.

I also cannot believe Guerra is even close. I'm sure his stats have been fine but it is the crucial moments he is making crucial errors at crucial times that are crucially letting his teammates down this year at a crucial stage of their development. The fact he should be a crucial experienced player who is making those crucial school boy errors is all the more adding to be disbelief he is even close to a crucial rep team.

I like the choice of Papalii...if it were on the bench. Thaiday is so lucky to be there but I daresay he is the best prop/second-row impact forward Australia has around...except Fifita on his day, though his day is often few and far between.

I would also suggest that Milf's bender has gifted Morgan both his spot in the Maroons and Green and Gold this year.

Very good selection by Mal, regardless of the dispute about Radradra's selection, which I also don't agree with.
Gallen is on the only spot he could be with Woods out, and the bench is also well balanced.

Agree with BP that Ferguson is a winger, but I'm not sure about Dugan at right centre next to him. Other than that, what a difference from the previous sheenius!

Tedesco is easily the unluckiest to miss out. He has been the best fullback in the competition and if you picked him at fullback you could just stick Boyd on the wing.

Blame his team mates.

They cost him a jersey.

Coote has been better than Tedesco this year and last. Tedesco is another one of those players that shows up against crap teams

He really isn't.. He's virtually the only player on the Tigers that puts in 100% effort every game regardless of who they're playing or how badly they're losing. I feel sorry for him having to play on that team tbh..

Don't, it's his choice. He could have gone to the Raiders.

I'm not saying he's a bad player but between him and Coote, Coote is tougher, a better defender, a better team player and shows up against good teams.

Better defender is arguable, Tedesco has done some incredible saves this year, I'd say they're both above average defensively. It's also pretty hard to say that Coote shows up against good teams better than Tedesco, because of who Coote has on his team, it's a lot easier for him to shine.

How can a player who has never played finals football, and is apart of a side that has lost six in a row be robbed of a jersey? He's unlucky to be in the predicament he's in - sure but fullback is a hotly contested position and unfortunately he's got a guy who is in good form himself and has won Four Nations for his country before.

Even then, Tedesco was still going to be behind GI and Dugan so I don't see the injustice at all.

As far as Lachlan Coote is concerned, I'll be honest I thought he'd be one of those unlucky club players that would get looked over for the more flashier player. However, over the recent weeks Tedesco's form has gone backwards while Coote continues to make an excellent case. As far as I'm concerned, it's between him or Matty Moylan for the NSW fullback jersey.

What impresses me most about Coote as a footballer is that he isn't one of those players who just all of a sudden got good because of the players around him. He isn't like a David Williams or Dane Nielsen type - he was actually a star over in Penrith before injury after injury cruelled his career. When they finished second, they actually had a really good forward pack and decent backline but the spine was all over the shop. If it wasn't for Coote, it would have gone all to waste which really speaks volumes of him as a footballer.

Seriously?

Tedesco hasn't had 1 or 2 moments throughout the season he has been on absolute fire all season long from the first play. Making great try saving tackles, running the ball back making great meters, scoring tries and setting them up. On form he is the best fullback in the comp this year. I was waiting for you to post something like this sooner or later.

It's only round 8 and he's really only played well against teams like the Warriors, Manly, Knights etc. We can have this conversation again when he plays well against a team who can make tackles. Until then Lachlan Coote has been the better player. Eagerly awaiting your response to BP who has the same opinion as me though.

That attitude is nearly the same as the cockroaches had when Wally was captain
