We played like shit.

But this is nothing new. I've seen plenty of unexpected losses a week after origin 3.

We have an easy run home. We can fix it, we made the gf last year.

A lot of these guys were runners up in Toyota Cup back in the day too, and look how they worked hard to turn it around and go one better...

Oh, wait...

Well we got fucked over by the refs BUT as frustrating as that made it to watch it probably made no difference to the result because we were shit like we have been for 8 weeks now.

I could not believe we were $1.42 head to head and $3.75 for Penrith. The 13 plus odds were $11. I backed the Panthers at both because sometimes you have to believe your eyes.

We don't hold down or slow down the ruck by design because WB doesn't like it.

We have little deception in the ruck so we get hammered, dominated and held down.

We have zero depth in the outside backs so have to play backrowers out of position.

We have a Lamborghini in Roberts who gets no early ball and hasn't all year and we don't even try.

We have a game plan that requires our players to be physically dominant for it to work and we can't keep it up because it just wears you down mentally and physically.

No one looks like they are having fun because they know they are going to get bashed with our one out style.

This is by no means the first time a WB coached side has done this, it's a coaching issue no doubt. As good a coach as he is this is a pattern and I would be surprised if we hang on to the 8 even with the soft draw we have. Where there is life there's hope but not much.

I would love to be optimistic, but this season is done. We're finished.

Even in other years where we were having a bad run, we were putting in a better effort. We were playing with heart, we were showing fight. We weren't fucking backing down.

Tonight, we did the opposite. We looked disinterested. We didn't look like a team. We didn't look like we even wanted to be there. We lost against a fucking side that were missing players as well and have little fucking chance of even making the 8. We're done.

We have to rely on Bulldogs losing 2 more games and hope to god they cop some floggings.

That's if we win every game from now on and only lose to Melbourne. Which doesn't seem likely.

These guys, at the moment, are an embarrassment to the jersey.

Tonight, I saw Broncos attack the left side.. And guess what? Panthers read it so goddamn easily. They were already there before the ball even got to Boyd waiting for the pass, and Boyd still passed it and we got pushed over the sideline. We are predictable.

Yeah there is only so long that a small forward pack like ours can mix it with the big guys and our lack of size is being found out big time now.

Ironic that this was the year the rule changes were supposed to be to our advantage.

Nice, I still had a bit of hope we would try to turn our season around and belt them.

It hasn't changed shit. The refs are scared as **** to let the games flow because it increases their chances of making a colossal **** up that sees them in the papers for a week. No, instead they let teams do whatever they want and lo and behold, they slow the fucking ruck down. The NRL makes rule changes they don't give a **** about.

Even if Wayne wanted us to wrestle, the referees wouldn't let us. We're fucked either way

Me too but a bets a bet and when you think the bookies get it wrong you have to have a crack. Same reason I backed the Cows last night over 13, the Dogs have been shit except against worse shit, hence they won 4 straight and had the commentators raving about what a great coach Desie is and how they fly under the radar.

Was last season disguised by Walters presence, and is what some of us feared when Bennett was hired back, actually happening now?
As good as Godges was, surely that can't be the difference!

Should WB just focus on managing the football group and leave the coaching to someone else?

Does anyone have the Win / Loss stats of the Broncos with and without Walters?

Regardless, are we done with the 1st gear line speed in defense, and the lack of hard running in attack?
We complain the opposition lays for ages on us, while we get penalised when we do it... and it's true, but not so much because the refs have us in their sights (Checcin is just a clueless idiot), but because the opposition consistently dominates us in tackles and runs. We dominate absolutely nothing, which is why we have the get out of the ruck so fast!

Parker doesn't inspire effort and/or commitment as a captain. It's too late to change things now, but if such a long term Broncos servant can't get his colleagues to lift for his farewell tour... he must really not be liked.

Finally, isn't WB supposedly very good with changing room politics and keeping young heads grounded? If the usually well informed Smoking Joe and Talanoa are correct about these inflated egos, then he is not doing a very good job...

Time to put my hazmat suit and hard hat on, as I can already feel all the crap that will be slung at me.

Nope, I agree wholeheartedly. I called for Bennett to fire a rocket into this dressing room about 7 rounds ago and it is still forthcoming. Did Bennett lose the squad as well the moment he named Parker Captain?

If Wayne still not figure out what wrong with team is so why he is super coach. People are taking about in 2006 Broncos lost 6 game in row. That year they win grand finals. At that time Broncos got player like petero,Shane webcke , hodges , great Darren Lockyer etc. People can't compare this year team to that year team. This year team is bad.

I really hope Walters comes back to help and locky goes down to training more but there's no way old Bennett will make this happen b

I tried to warn people last week that Penrith would be a better test than South Sydney.

You know what though, we get f***ed over in the ruck because we get owned both ways.. In defence we aren't dominating giving us the right to lay there just that little bit longer and in attack we get owned in the tackle, hardly ever breaking through and smashing the defensive line and earning a quick play. A quick play has to be earned and we just aren't doing this, we're getting smashed and until they start running harder or smarter lines at least we wont be getting the penalties when teams lay on us. Same in defence, were letting players break our line and then blowing up when we get pinged for trying to slow things down... If we want to lay there a bit longer we me to hit like sledge hammers and dominate the f***ing tackle.

Which is why the better sides go 2 and 3 passes wide to an edge and run at a half. A great way to start a set with a quick play the ball and get rolling.

Exactly, S***s me to tears. I hate seeing others teams laying on us all night but we don't do ourselves any favours either. The dominant side gets the breathing room, the struggling side just looks like they are slowing s*** down and will get penalised every time
