WOW!! If he joins them THIS season, they are contenders THIS year. Goodness me, DCE did them the biggest favour ever. He is nowhere near the player Hayne is and along the way they picked up the Broncs best halfback for a steal, plus NSW's best hooker. Good on them.

Given how this season is going, if Hayne joins them, they are probably the third best team in the premiership race behind the Storm and Cowboys and just ahead of the Sharks, maybe on par.

Hayne is quality, even at half as good as he was and is a huge improvement on what they currently have anyway. All he needs to do is get himself right for about two months, they are contenders.

I'm going to come out and say it, Jarryd Hayne is the biggest signing in franchise history. When he left, he was the best player in the game and he's one of the greatest outside backs to grace this sport.

Well done to Graham Annersley, Neil Henry and the Gold Coast Titans. The sooner we see Hayne at Robina, the better for the code.

The Titans' defence has improved as the year has gone on and I think it is good enough. Hayne brings the attack that, though they haven't been lacking so much, can challenge the top points scorers.

Their franchise history (The Tits), or the history of the NRL? Big call, we'll see if he fires better than, say, Inglis at the Wabbits.

Question is, how much did the NRL itself have to do with it? They own the Titans still, don't they? As an expansion club that was waning terribly (the last few weeks' interest notwithstanding), it's massive for the NRL. Has their war chest been opened in secret?
