What a performance! The Broncos played with such purpose and commitment.

It was so great to see the Broncos using the football in attack from the outset. Blair's offload from the very first play set the tone (and reminded me of their long range tries last year vs Souths and in the GF). I've lamented the Broncos not fully utilising all their attacking weapons this year and being too predictable in attack at times but tonight they were anything but and their tactics really seemed to catch the storm off guard.

I've been very sceptical of Hunt this year but last night he was fantastic. The whole team was.

I've got to give Milf a special mention for his pass which milked a penalty and upset Smith. It's good to get one back on these pricks. Their move a few years ago at Suncorp off a scrum where they held our prop back so (I think it was Slater) could run through and score still irks me and more so because the video ref okayed it.
Not so nice when the boot's on the other foot, is it clowns?

Smith being penalised and marched a further 10 was the icing on the cake for me. I hate those kind of plays but **** I enjoyed that one.

I thought some of you guys would've pointed out Hunt's performance a bit more. I know a few have mentioned he had a good game, but his kicking and his ability to control the game and the tempo with his kicking, was first rate.

He had 1 or 2 shockers (1 I remember clearly when he nearly kicked it into his own legs), but the other 95% of his kicks were great.

All his practice is starting to pay off, and off the back of that, his running and passing games are benefiting too.

Also helps when you have a decent chase like we have over the past month

this, so much this, all of it

i also wondered have we played all our cards, conspiracies et al... but showing how frustated we made these SOBs and most of all their captain, and less visibly ice man Cronk (yep.. that was indeed a dig at the Hunt critics... having the best player/half/captain/pasta-slinging deity means sweet **** all if the rest of the team cant committ and the staff arent -for whatever reason- formulating tactics or a game plan)

btwn the rd 4 win and this this would have to the most satisfying wins as a fan..

(though a GF win to send Gallen out a loser wouldnt hurt...)

I just figured out why we finally were able to win a milestone game...

Because the fact that we had 2 players reaching a milestone must have cancelled each others out

Ok, genuine random question here if someone knows the answer. With the Jai Arrow try, there was not much fuss made about Roberts being in front of the kicker, apart from some mention of 'passive' offside. When you re-watch the try, the kick from Milford actually goes backwards. He's 2 or 3 metres inside the 20, and the ball almost lands on the 20. Not that its been suggested anywhere, but would this negate the offside because essentially all Milf has done is send a pass across field 40 metres, albeit off of his boot? I mean, Roberts does start to retire, but there is no advantage anywhere from Milfs shank.

Yeah, this was perfectly fine. Roberts even retreats from the ball, like he's supposed to (unlike Jennings in Origin).

It seems this year they have brought in the interpretation of passive offside not being a penalty.

Which i think is good as long as they are consistent.

However there was nothing passive about Jennings in origin. He chased the bloody ball. Therefore he had an involvement in the play

It was good to see someone switched on enough to take advantage of it. It's the kind of moment that we usually would let go by, while players like Thurston and Smith would be all over it.

Smith would NEVER do that... you saw how upset he was last night. He never whinges when opposition teams pull the same stunts as him.

There were plenty of sets where we just powered up the field through the forwards passing. Good to watch.

Why focus on the negatives in our most impressive win of the season?

I'm watching the post game from Fox Sports after we beat the scum, Tallis is filthy LOL

NRL 2016 Round 25 Storm v Broncos 720p50 x264 VB 2nd Half - YouTube

Tallis ... it isn't hard to understand why Roberts wasn't penalised for being offside.

While he is right, there is nothing in the rules about passive offside ... they have been ruling the same way all season. (at least since origin). so if they are being consistent (and i know it is a big ask with NRL refs) they had to allow that try

Yup, they made a rod for their backs allowing Jennings' try in Origin imo. I'm not usually a fan of grey rules, I prefer black and white, but I'm happy with this one. Players are offside from kicks ALL THE TIME. If they have no impact on the play, then it's ok as far as I'm concerned. If they distract or put off or otherwise influence the opposing team, then penalise it.
