Opposition too good and credit to the guys for hanging on. I don't think they would have gotten close with how they played last week.

Overall the mid season slump really hurt the season, but I'm happy with how they came back in the run home.

Cowboys with 56% possession.
Paints a picture.

They were at 48% possession at the end of the first half. Really goes to show you just how catastrophic 'ill discipline' can be to your chances of staying in the contest.

From what we saw tonight you think Hunt and Milford can capitalise on the advantages a player like taulmalolo can bring? Our forwards were fine, they defended well and crated opportunities for us but werent able to capitalise and that sits at the feet of Hunt and Milford.

Don't ask me for the answer but I'm sure the answer isn't resigning Hunt. Tonight's display showed he's not up to it. Same with Milford.
Milford would have carved up on the back of that. So would Hunt. They're not quite downhill skiers, but they're getting close.

Ben Hunt isn't a good game manager, but he's still a much better half than Milford.

We always seem to lose the ruck. I cant quite work out if its our forwards or the refs, or both, but the refs ALWAYS seem to want us off the tackle within a second but when we have the ball, the opposition is given the full 3 seconds every time.

I dont think im seeing things through biased eyes here..

Shattered. Again. I think we made a bad choice with Hunt vs Taylor, boys. Taylor has way more upside at this point. Too many brain explosions from Hunt.
Oh, but I thought he was better than Thurston... at least according to the graphs you posted here somewhere.

Yeah, because Taylor got Titans a win against the top teams..

Wait... No he didn't. He was just as amateurish as Hunt.
Please just stop. In his first season in the NRL, Taylor already showed more composure than Hunt with 8 seasons behind him.

Anyway, tonight both halves were pretty crap, but Milford has time (and talent) on his side to become the premier pivot in the NRL, but he needs someone with different skills to Hunt next to him...

Boyd was fantastic this year and deserved more than what we dished out tonight.
Shout out to Cozza in his farewell from the game, thank you for your great service Corey!

Even thought the Cows were probably the better team, if it wasn't for a soccer dive from Thurston, we would probably be celebrating right now.

From here, I'd prefer to see the Panthers take it. No grubs, no Sticky as coach, no GH troll site, and some pretty entertaining footy. Too bad about Gus being there.
After that, Storm or Cowboys (yeah, despite the last years), and I'd actually prefer the apocalypse than either Sharks or Raiders taking it.

I'm sure most of you will disagree, but the issue in our halves, is not Hunt, its Milford. Milford this year has gotten way too much ball, way more than he should of and as a result he has strangled Hunt out of most games. We haven't allowed Hunt to play his natural game and work his way into a game due to the over reliance on Milford and our left side attack.

With Milford, we all know how wonderfully talented he is, but its a delicate balance with him. Quantity isn't always quality when it comes to Milford. It might sound strange, but the less he touches the ball in general play the better he goes. It ensures that when he does handle the ball, its quality.

The Broncos are at their best when Hunt is constantly on the ball. The more Hunt gets the ball, the more he runs, the more confident he gets, the more direct we play and the better we look as a team. That's when Milford needs to chime in off the back off. I feel we've played way too laterally and structured and its taken away from Hunt's major strengths which is playing whats in front of him.

This season, Hunt has predominantly played second fiddle to Milford, often just shovelling the ball on to Milford on a sweep play. That was not why we were so successful last year. and that's not how to maximise our strengths as a team, or individually within our halves. A lot of Milford's magic last season happened off the back of what Hunt had done before him. Unfortunately Milford hasn't been able to provide the same opportunities for Hunt,

Hunt is one of the best instinctive half backs in the game and its when we play direct as a team that he is most dangerous. Look back to the Melbourne game and Hunt comes up with pure unstructured halfback play. As a team we need more of that attack, rather than the sort of predictable attack we've dished up this year.

I think the JT/Morgan combination is the perfect model for our halves. Morgan never overplays his hand, and lets JT do most of the play, but when he does chime in, he certainly makes it count. We have to inject Milford as a runner, rather than give him the ball and hope for the best. The sooner we get Kevin Walters back, the better.

Milford didn't really get that much ball. He was missing most of the time, and dropping the ball the rest.

Its true, we need a dominant 1/2 but you don't tell somebody to be dominant........They just are.
Get MILF to play second fiddle to a dominant half and watch what happens

By the way, I'm not sure what happened to my paragraphs, but anyway, I agree, but I'm not just referring to tonight's match, I'm talking about our season in general. Everyone talks about Hunt not playing like he was last year, and there's a reason to it. Milford isn't the type of player you wan't touching the ball the most. Those aren't he's strengths. While Hunt's strength is to be on the ball at all times. I cant fathom how the coaching staff hadn't identified that Hunt needs more ball.

You're kidding? Hunt was doing everything and Milford has done sweet **** all, all year and gets away with it by the fans and the media.

You're totally right, Hunt was doing everything tonight.

Kicking it dead.. Giving them 7 tackle sets.. Terrible passes.. Terrible decision making.. Errors.. Missing tackles.. Giving away penalties..

..

But hey, whatever fits the pro-Hunt agenda, am I right?

Get Milford to play second fiddle to Hunt, and see what happens. We were building a special combination with these two, but this year, Milford's tried to be a dominant half and he's impeded Hunt's game.

Hunt is not and never will be a dominant half. He's a pivot who would serve perfectly a team like the Storm or Manly for example, who have a dominant half who can manage, organise and kick properly.

As a pivot, Milford is the younger, more talented player, despite tonight's game.

Really sucks to go out like that but the fact is we didn't close out the game when it mattered and didn't go on with our 8 point lead at half time. Milford didn't need to throw the ball away and we didn't throw enough caution to the wind in extra time. Really hated that penalty at the end but that's life.

High quality game between 2 great teams and this great finals series continues.

Boycot the finals. I'm sure that will get us to the GF next year. A ratings drop.

I'd rather him do that and look dangerous whenever he touched the ball rather than standing flat footed, doing nothing, not looking dangerous all season and letting the opposition get back, set their defense and have a coffee for ten minutes before the ball is played. If that's what it takes to give him a promotion to halfback then we all need to thank the rugby league Gods that Unbreakable is not involved in our club.
