Only JT, Pearce and perhaps Brooks are better players than Hunt, but about half of that list would be more suitable partners for Milford.

Woulnt have Pearce or brooks over hunt for mine. Whilst hunt was below par last season Pearce ruined the chooks before the season even began.

I was at a function on Friday with hunt and Paul white (poor bastard was on his last day of chemo but still toughed it out). To say these two are tight is an understatement. Hunt isn't going anywhere and whilst I appreciate the banter he is going to be our half for the next 5 seasons whether we think there is a better option or not.

I feel as though hunt won't want to leave until he delivers us a premiership.

That's a big call, I hope you are right because that means he'll be playing well. Being "buddy pal" with the CEO won't save him if he continues to struggle with inconsistency.

Yes, really.
There's a difference between being the better player and being the better halfback. Hunt certainly is the former for now, but in terms of the halfback position, Brooks is close and will likely be better, as he has the talent and plenty of progression in him.

I'd love SJ if Wayne was capable of getting the best out of him on a consistent basis.
That's crap. Moses is the better playmaker at the Tigers and even then their game plan consists of chip and chase and pass it to Tedesco.

Despite being a premiership winning halfback, at 27 years of age, Pearce still has a lot to prove before he can be considered a worthwhile investment. Not only off-the-field but on the field he's struggled through out his career and his ability to read the defence and call the play is underwhelming for an Origin veteran.

Brooks has been so poorly mismanaged that he's no longer on the Blues radar. When players like Reynolds and Hodkinson are considered above you, there needs to be some soul-searching. I haven't given up on him and still believe he's the best Blues playmaker coming through, just a question of whether he'll receive the support he requires.

We've seen the best of what Ben Hunt can offer. He's got some strong points, but his skill-set is among the weakest in the NRL and he relies far too heavily on intuition. Bennett has tried his best to groom him into a game-manager, but it's in these moments where Hunt has come up with the biggest mistakes. Hunt needs to succeed on his own terms, particularly in defence where he was among the worst in the NRL. The Broncos shouldn't have to 'settle' for him, Hunt needs to return to his natural game, remind the club of what he's capable of and the rest should fall into place.

I think the issue is, his natural game doesn't suit the Broncos system. He is a great runner, he has an average passing game, poor game management and a woeful kicking game. The Way i see it is across those 4 aspects he is like an 8-6-5-3 whilst Milford is a 10-7-5-3 and 4 years younger. Ideally between the two positions you want at least a 7 or above in each aspect. Look at the Cowboys for example. Thurston isn't the best runner of the ball anymore as age has caught up to him, but he has Morgan who is great. All those saying that Hunt won't leave until he gets us a premiership I hope you are wrong. He will not win an NRL premiership. I said it back in 2014 and in 2015 everyone was telling me how wrong I was and then he had that infamous final 5 minutes. He has never been, and never will be a game manager. His best chance of winning a premiership is by playing second fiddle to a lead half, or perhaps being an impact bench player.

Wow.. how soon you guys forget. Chucking hunt to the dogs is harsh. Considering everything he's done for the club and in that team. I remember how amazing he was when he was first given the 7 back in 2013. Pushed wallace out and all of a sudden we looked like we could finally score points.

Hunt will get there. I think this year will be far better than last year. For so many reasons

I would love to be wrong, but the Broncos will not win a grand final with Hunt being the leading playmaker. Either he leaves, or Milford get's a whole lot better at game management. Hunt will be 27 after round 3 or 4 next year. This is where he should be in his peak.

I think this year will definitely be the year where we find out if Hunt has got what it takes.

When it comes to hunt we could do a lot worse and we could also do a lot better.

Seems like a bloke who loves the club and wants to be here hence the fans who defend him with everything they've got.

One things for sure is that in 2017 I'm sure he will separate even more fans with Jekyl & Hyde act.

Ash Taylor just signed a new 2 year deal with the Titans. He is not coming back any time soon. Get over it
And good on him too. He's done really well for himself. Deserves to keep his spot for a while to come. Titans are going to be a real force in the coming years

He has signed till the end of 2019, he may indeed come back one day but the chances are slim. He has got everything he needs down the Coast.
