Jeez, I wish half of these excuses people are making for Milford worked for Hunt. He's not even trying and is worse!

100% in agreement with you. This is something I have been saying for ages, although I think Milford can improve his short kicking game.

They're both fantastic running 5/8's in my opinion, and either of them (and the Broncos) would be better off playing next to Peter Wallace, than each other.

Milford is the more talented one, as well as having the most room for improvement. He is imo suffering the consequences of playing Bennett ball without an organiser next to him, capable of controlling a tight game like this one and others, where we invariably end up against the ropes, hoping our goal line defense keeps the opposition out...

I am absolutely convinced our wonderful attack in 2015 was all Walters. I wish we could get him as head coach, maintaining Bennett in a higher role, such as football manager or something.
Gotta get Kevvie back. 100%.

I wonder if Cameron Smith would have made the same decision last night?

A crash ball versus three defenders while his receiver hadn't committed to a line versus a 3-2 over-lap down the blind with one the most potent backs running off one of the greatest ball-players to have ever played the game.

I have no idea what Gillett, Blair and Milford were doing either.

The lack of organisation and inability to know where to be at what time is hurting this team.

Macca goes right and even if he runs it at best it's a 4-on-3 with 10 metres to work with. A better structure would have been Gillett and Marshall switching places - that way McCullough can engage the marker, Marshall faces up to Blair, leaving Gillett and Roberts up against Vinivalu. Gillett either crashes over or passes to an unmarked Roberts. Marshall is not a "crash over" player, having him there in front of the most exploitable half-gap ruins it.

As someone who has been known to troll the odd opposition forum in my impressionable youth, can I give you a quick hint?

It always comes across as a lot more convincing if you don't join to troll for the first time on game day. Make the effort to jump on there at least the week before and even make a few posts complimenting the team in question early in the week. That way when you are rolling out the "That Chambers no try has been said to be a terrible call by everyone" (even though that has never been a try and pretty much everyone outside the storm can see that, even the commentators that hate the broncos the most) it does seem a little more creditable.

You guys play the tigers next week which I am confident you will win, so it would be a good idea to create an account on there now and roll out a few "Man I love Woodsy" and
"Predicting a big game from Mitch" posts.

Bravo. You spotted it too. All I read was:

"Good evening fellow Brisbane fans. I hope you are all enjoying this sunny, consistent weather that does not fluctuate every few minutes, as I know I am".

It shouldn't have been his role anyway, all he had to do was take it to the line and feed it to Roberts who had space to work in.

Your solution just highlights how many different ways the Broncos messed up in that situation and how disorganised the players seem to be.

**** I love gillett.

We got shafted and lost by two points away v last years finalists after turning in our worst first half for a long time (save WCC).

We're not far away... We'll put the raiders away and then be 2 and 2 v last years top 4...
How was everyone carrying on about him picking the ball up with 1 hand... not 1 mention of the fact that Slater just steps over the ball!
One of the commentators praised Slater for a quick play the ball!!
You can be real quick if you don't actually play the ball!!
**** Vunidildo
Asofa Solimona is the worst/best at playing the ball. He just gets off the ground and steps over the ball like he's going on a sunday stroll.

Sam Thaiday grade one contrary conduct charge for incident with Jesse Bromwich. Early plea - $1550 fine

I'm not sure about you guys, but I'm finding it really hard to get over this loss to the Storm. I usually move on after we lose very quickly but this one is hard to swallow. Not sure what it is exactly but I think it's because I can finally see us as that team that is extremely good when we are on and executing etc, but we just can never ever close out games. It's got to the point that if we are up by 2 or 4 with 10 minutes to go then I just know we all blow it and lose the game. Does anyone else feel like this? It's not just games against the Cowboys too, it's mainly against the top 4-6 sides, everyone else I'm not fussed about as we are usually well in front with 10 to go and we win anyway.

I think these close game losses have affected us mentally since the GF loss. In 2015, we'd close out the close games and win and I think that gave us confidence and momentum etc. We had a killer instinct and just wouldn't be denied. The Roosters and Penrith games in 2015 come to mind. But I think since the heart breaking GF loss, we aren't the same team mentally. I honestly believe we go into our shell with 10 minutes to go if we are up by 2-6 points. All these close losses are affecting us and we haven't overcome our demons. Yes our halves aren't the traditional halves who can close out games but why did we win the close games in 2015 and since we lost the GF we haven't won a close game since really? It's not just the halves. It's the entire mentality of our team, it's like we know we are going to lose the close games so we hesitate and lack the killer instinct, it's gone. We aren't confident.

Last night's defensive effort was extraordinary, and the refs really had a big impact on the game, but with 10 minutes to go, we should of iced that game but what did we do? Error after error, penalty after penalty. It's frustrating and quite sad.

I dunno guys, feeling pretty bummed about these close losses so I'm just venting. I respect if you don't agree, these are just my views. I know our effort is there and we'll always fight until the end & we have to admire that about our boys.

I feel as you do. For some reason I just can't get this game out of my head. Anyway, what is clear to me is that we are not moving the ball as we did in '15 nor are our halves playing with space and time to set up attacking structures. And how I wish Milf and Hunt would play on the same side.

For mine this is more a coaching issue than an individual's mindset. Kevin Walters where are you?

It always hurts a lot more when you put in such a great defensive effort only for a piece of fucking pure luck in the dying minutes to make it all for nothing.

Refresh my memory - what did he do to Bromwich?

There is a shot of Thaiday grabbing Bromwich's injured hand at the same time Bromwich grabbed his. Needless to say - the Bronco got the contrary conduct charge...

Refresh my memory - what did he do to Bromwich?

Was pulling at his thumb after the play. It looked ordinary. Would have got away with it if he didn't make it so obvious. Got to be a bit more sneaky if you target previous injuries.

Not much to say about that game that hasn't already said. I really hope we pick up our attack soon, we don't look like a stable cohesive team, basically our attack is a shambles.

As for Thaiday thumb grab, it was a pretty shit play and quite obvious what he was doing, pretty grubby really. Very Gallen esque.

Raiders will be tough next week, always are at Suncorp.

Not quite pulling out stitches. Long way to go to get to that grubs level

Great post, mirrors exactly how I feel: Very frustrating losing all the close games. Our 2 losses this year alot of people resorting to blaming the refs when fact is we simply haven't been good enough. Don't become the Roosters forum guys.
