NEWS Walters Steps Down

@Nashy , we need to do something about this guy, he's on to us!

P.S. It should be hilarious to see me and @Morkel getting into it about who plays where.

Oh **** there is going to be some tanties. Most of it unintelligible.

**** it, you take on the attack, get that pitchfork out and give them hell, I'll work on the defence like our souls depend on it.

May sound ridiculous but will we start to see hodgo in the coaches box as the season wears on?

1 more contract for Wayne (he’ll want one after divorce) then onto hodgo for 2022!

Honestly Walters can go **** himself. This is the absolute last thing a team that SHOULD mean the world to him needed. This is just out and out selfish and the fodder he has given his **** mates like Ikin and Kent is not what the team needs and certainly not what the fan base needs.

I don’t want him anywhere near the Broncos again and I hope he fails with QLD.

I know people will shoot this down but I don’t give a ****.

C'mon, this is bullshit. We obviously don't know the real story but let's look at it realistically. Before taking the assistant coaching role. Kevin knew the work load, he knew the pressure he'd be under working 2 jobs and I have no doubt he knew how it looks from the outside looking in coaching the Broncos and QLD. Didn't Kevin say he needs to coach in an NRL side to gain more experience etc? What happened Kevin? What changed?

The Broncos are doing it a bit tough right now, our attack that YOU'RE in charge of isn't firing and now you want to abandon us when we need you the most? When the going gets tough, the tough get going. I'm not sure if this is all true, this is just my perspective but bailing on us when we're down at the moment stinks. You're a Bronco. You can't leave us now. Sounds like Kevin is a sore loser. And this is the guy we want as the next Broncos coach? Someone who abandons us when we aren't at our best? Please.

This is how I see it. If Kevin got the tap on the shoulder or was asked to leave, then I obviously take this back but we need people at our club who don't leave when the chips are down. Who stick solid and help us all get out of this funk we're in.

So Green has been told he has to make his decision on his future in the near future( like this week)...Maybe there are some wheels turning?

I'd say there are.

Kevin Walters steps down as Brisbane Broncos assistant coach

TRAVIS MEYN, PETER BADEL, The Courier-Mail
04/04/2018

WAYNE Bennett and Kevin Walters’ rocky relationship has fractured again after the Broncos legend sensationally split with the club for the third time on Wednesday.

Walters’ tenure as Bennett’s assistant coach came to an end just four rounds into the NRL season when he tendered his resignation, with the Broncos languishing 10th on the ladder.

Walters, 50, cited his commitments as Queensland Origin coach for his decision to leave his post at the Broncos.

However, sources told News Corp that Bennett’s reluctance to accept new methods frustrated Walters and was a factor in the six-time premiership winner’s decision to quit.

Walters, in a statement, said he wanted to ensure his Origin selections weren’t scrutinised.

“I attended the launch of the State of Origin series in Melbourne and the level of interest at the media conference reinforced how privileged I am to be coach of a Maroons team which means so much to the people of Queensland,” he said.

“It also reinforced Origin’s immense standing in the game and the importance of having a clear-minded approach to all aspects of the Queensland team’s preparations.

“I felt that my direct link to the Broncos may influence the perception of my impartiality and as result of these factors I have made the decision to step away from the club to focus solely on the State of Origin campaign.”

Walters, sacked from his assistant coach post by Bennett in 2005, returned to the Broncos in 2015, helping Brisbane to its first grand final since 2006.

Bennett barred Walters from the Broncos role when he assumed the Maroons head coaching duties from Mal Meninga in 2016, eventually softening his stance this season.

Walters was absent from training on Wednesday, leaving Bennett’s other assistant Jason Demetriou to run drills.
Bennett, a former Queensland coach, said he understood Walters’ decision.

“It takes a huge commitment to coach Queensland and while we have really valued Kevin’s input this year as an assistant coach, we wish him all the best,” he said.

It is unlikely Bennett will appoint a replacement this season.

The Broncos have had a turbulent start to the 2018 season, sitting 10th on the ladder with a 2-2 records.

Could not care less.

We'll go better without him.

Well, I still hope he helps QLD go well. This looks like it might be a really forgettable year for the Broncos. Needs some Rugby League joy.

So there you go Kevin wasn't forced to leave, he just cracked the shits with Wayne. Come on!! We all have to work with **** wits Kev, you should of sucked it up and been a man of your word

....and I'm such a fuckwit for not thinking about this before I signed with the Broncos at the beginning of the season.

If Wayne really doesn't listen to him, there is no point to him being here then.

Yeah....even more so now, lets home QLD romp home again.

I guess we will never know if Wayne would of eventually listened to him as the season went on

We don’t even know if that is true. It is from ‘sources’ which means it’s the writer trying to give credible to their own theory.
