The inglis interview was on that aboriginal footy show @theshed. Not sure where you can find it.

From what i've heard its always been they just dont get his methods rather than they dont like the bloke.

Even if you don't understand his methods surely you have to atleast buy in and hell, maybe even one day they will get their heads around it. I can help but feel the players are equally as responsible as Seibold when it comes to the situation we find ourselves in. I think it's gotten bad enough that Seibs has to go no matter but gee some of these players need a reality check.

At this point why would you bother trying to buy in. Everyone on here knows pies days are numbered, it’s probably worse within the club. Would you try learning a new language if you’re never going to speak it?

I was not saying they should buy in now. Should have been done ages ago.

That's fair enough. This is just my opinion but the younger players seem more willing to buy into seibs method's because they don't know any better. The older players know what it's like to be coached by competent coaches and now they've got this absolute amateur fraud speaking nonsense to them and they just cant get behind it.

If that scenario did in fact happen than it would be pretty unprofessional and immature on their part. I tend to think we were sold a lemon in Seibs but if your a professional and serious about competing than you just have to get behind him no matter what and not just pay lip service.

I'm personally not convinced they havent bought into what he wants to do or they arent trying to, i just dont think it works for this group and they just cant get their heads around his methods. He pretty much ripped up everything they were doing and started from scratch, when what he should have done was do things a bit at a time.

Gotta burn them boats tho.

If you had a new boss come in trying to get you to completely overhaul something you'd been doing for years, you would subconsciously resent them for it.

Ive not seen the segment and so not wishing to take anything out of context, but if it is as you say Pies needs to show some spine and drop Boyd. The club should actually be onto Pies too telling him our club will not stand senior players white anting the Broncos head coach.

I don't care if Pies has been an abysmal failure this sort of cancerous behaviour should never be tolerated. It destroys the very fabric of our club.
Well said mate ... and a bit of "Conspiracy Theory 101" ... what if Darbs is still in Uncle Wayne's pocket and is the metaphorical mole in the Broncos dressing shed ... hmmm ?

So my shifts got chnaged today so im finishing at 10 tonight. first game i wont be watching in 3+ years F***K

Brown's never been handed a squad like fatso magoo was given.

That's true, however, it's not the whole truth. What happened to the squad with injuries needs to be factored in as well. Also, Seibold was handed a decent squad in 2018 and did rather well. There are no simple solutions here, only trivial explanations, or magical thinking, to avoid facing, and dealing with, a bigger problem. Like the board as one example. Sacking Seibold won't of itself change much, if anything, other than satisfy some bruised player egos and quick fix a lot of pissed off fans (like me).

In any case, for mine, tonight's match will go a long way to determining Seibold's fate given he has a strong side on the park, and Milford is no longer an excuse.

So what are you saying here? That because players don't want to change what clearly hasn't been working is a reason not to change? The tail wags the dog?

At the end of the day I wouldn't have a clue but it does look like they lack trust in their coach. Surely his methods can't be that confusing, i know they are footy players but come on. As I have said I do think Seibs should fall on his sword but we certainly shouldn't let the admin and certain players get away with their part in this debacle.

It's not about them not wanting to change, it's about them being able to see bullshit a mile away.

As far as conspiracies go, this one isn’t even that far fetched 😞

The thing I can't wrap my head around is the first two rounds where it all seemed to click, I mean if they don't understand what he is trying to show them it makes no sense how they got it at first and then forget it later on.

Our forwards don't dominate other teams anymore, take the Bulldogs one off game out of the equation we haven't done it really since pre covid.

When I watch them play I dont necessarily think that it's a lack of trust, but moreso about confusion on what's required.

In his first interview Seibold mentioned that he doesn't want to play structured footy rather he wants the team to play heads up.

To me that is trying to get the players to read and react to what's going on in front of them, such as knowing when and where to run a decoy or be a lead runner, the team reading the defensive numbers to know where an overlap is, runs specifically to get a quick ptb, seeing the fullback up in the line and kicking behind, kicking early while the wingers are up, etc.

When the Broncos put this into practice I see a lot of flat footed forwards or players standing in the line waiting for a pass to come to them, rather than fluid movements across the field and players running onto the ball or targetted runs to exploit defences... it's like there's too much onus on the players to just know what is required of them on the field, so they have a million thoughts going through their head, but don't do any of them except "give me the ball".

To be able to play that kind of football you need some form of basic structure... the players need something to fall back on and to understand the reason why they need to do something on the field... you also need smart footy players across the park and potentially this team is full of physical athletes or natural talents rather than smart footy players and Seibold is trying to teach them when all they've ever had to do is catch it and run over the player in front of them. You get footy smarts as you play and understand the game

I would say the storm and roosters play like the above, they will hit certain parts of the field and the second there is a deficiency in the defensive line the whole team is in position to exploit it. To me the best example of this is the storm's play when the ptb is close to the goal line... there are middle forwards hitting gaps in the defence for a pass straight from CS9 (they're not even crash balls, because they know if they get the ball they're going to score and they know CS9 will get them the ball when it is on)... if the short ball isn't on CS9 will use them as lead runners and get it wide quickly to Munster who puts on a simple play to exploit it... even when it's not on out wide he'll hit the edge forward or centre (whoever has lapsed in the defensive line) for a 1v1 and quick ptb to load up again.

It's almost like option plays in NBA or NFL... every man knows they're an option and they run their line, and you leave it in the hands of the playmakers to make the right pass.

Right now it looks like every man in the Broncos think they're an option, but they don't execute anything to give the playmaker something to work with... it's all clunky

I would say he's not done a good enough job of simplifying the players role ... he's trying to turn them all into CS9, but in reality they need to run they basics until it's drilled into their head and then expand their game from there.

He does need some smarts in his spine though, they need to be able to identify and execute when there are deficiencies in the defence
