That's what they're banking on - that they can sack him. They know that there will be a payout requirement but it won't be full at loading.

This is not a case of buyers remorse, this is a person who was called in to do a job with expectations of results and has not the skills or ability to deliver on that commitment.

If that was true, he'd have been sacked 6 weeks ago. They clearly have no leverage to sack him and he has a "really strong contract".
Good luck taking the legal angle, he can blame it on injuries, players not doing what he tells them, blah blah. He can even re-purpose his 48 hours to release a name legal team.

I would say that is what his legal team is actually for currently.

The club should have negotiated this in strict confidentiality. They should have used the carrot that if he goes now he can say it was his choice to stand down as the toll of a one team town was just too much for his family. This announcement sort of takes that option off the table. Is it to be yet another example of how inept this board is when it comes to negotiations?

Are you sure about the 153k thing? Where I work that's the bottom tier and there's been quite a few over the years that have successfully been through the process of unfair dismissal. Might be different somehow.

From what I have read and heard on Fox Sports, Seibold and Morris have been dealing with this "for the last couple of days". Seems an agreement has most likely already been reached, or close to it
