I’ve been told from a very reliable source that it’s the remaining contract value plus the $1m. maybe the $1m covers the ridiculous option and reputation damage? Regardless, it’s a public company so all will have to be revealed in the annual report.
what a mess.

His current solicitors are not employment law experts.
So you're buying what they're selling? Very convenient timing for a 'family emergency'.
I called it the day he went into 'covid lockdown' that we were two weeks away from a resignation on family grounds and here we are. All that's left is for them to really hammer home that narrative with a press release in the coming days.
@Huge this might interest you. According to Rothfield Flanagan is finishing up at Saints in 5 weeks, he only ever signed on for one year as an assistant to Mary.
In the same article:
SHOOSH VII
Which highly-regarded official from a rival club is being considered by the Brisbane Broncos for a role as a general manager of football next year on a revamped management team. This guy is a good operator who can fix their culture issues.
I wonder who this might be??
Yes the unfair dismissal laws are different over that amount. It doesn't mean that you don't have to pay out a contract though. Are you sure about the 153k thing? Where I work that's the bottom tier and there's been quite a few over the years that have successfully been through the process of unfair dismissal. Might be different somehow.
I'm not totally sold Kevvie has what it takes to be a top tier NRL coach but he sure as shit will be better than Seibold, actually takes discipline seriously (need only to look at him dismissing QLD players) and is a club legend who will both demand respect, and pride in the jersey again.Dobbo weighs in.
Seibs to accept the severance tomorrow, Kevie to take over effective immediately

He'll also have the support of the media so he won't be hounded from day 1 for being the wrong person.
I really feel sorry for Seibold and wish him well in whatever he does next but I really can't wait for a change of scenery and a new coach to walk in. The environment is so toxic currently it simply cannot continue as it is.
Walters works in the media though and is mates with a bunch of the media wankers, so he'll surely get a far easier ride than Seibold who came in under appalling circumstances and replacing an excellent coach who the players never wanted gone.I remember Seibold having media support when he started...for about 2 weeks, then it was back to normal for the Broncs. Media will keep on shitting on the Broncos regardless of who is coach IMO. The only changes will be the "old boys". Well, I hope they'll show support.
That sounded like speculation about Kevvie though.
I agree with this, I think Walters will have a grace period but the gloves will come off from next year. The media will bash us for being us and Kev will cop it that is for sure. Just look at the treatment he gets around origin.I remember Seibold having media support when he started...for about 2 weeks, then it was back to normal for the Broncs.
