QLD Squad 2020

As much as I enjoyed flogging nsw every year, The golden qld era kinda killed off the origin vibe for me. But this has a bit of an old school feel to it. Qld fielding a team a nobodies not expecting to win and Wayne Bennett back at the helm.

Sad thing is fittler being hailed a great coach....if qld pull a miracle out of their arse no doubt the commentators will tell everyone to stand up and applaud a great blues dynasty🤢

agree 100%

dominance is boring regardless of who's side it is.

underdogs, backs to the wall, bunch of absolute nevilles and plodders - bring it on.

Xavier Coates has missed the last two training sessions opting to go on a previously planned holiday instead.

Petero Civoniceva has quit the QLD team for this years series as he can't commit to the strict bubble requirements because of work and family commitments

Just gets better and better doesn't it [emoji2955]

Corey Allan
Dane Gagai
Dunamis Lui
Jaydn Su'A

All join the Maroons squad.

All former Broncos juniors too.
Thought Dunamis was quite good this year, possibly his best? Good to see some of the lesser names from our early NYC squads making a name/career for themselves. Wouldn't be against him as a benchie.

That takes the Maroons to 21 players with presumably 6 spots remaining.

It's difficult to say for certain, he had a fairly strong 2019 as well.

I see Dunamis as the right fit for the right club. After trying to go big with Shannon Boyd and Junior Paulo, the Raiders went with a more mobile pack and it's allowed them to be more robust defensively. Lui has really complimented the team nicely and really made a nice career for himself.

****, when comparing the nsw and qld squads, qld is in a bit of strife. Doesnt even look like it will be close

Kurt Capewell

6. Cameron Munster
7. Daly Cherry-Evans (C)
8. Moeaki Fotuaika

10. Josh Papalii
11. Felise Kaufusi
12. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui
13. Jai Arrow
14. Ben Hunt
15. Jadyn Su’A
16. Christian Welch
17. Pat Carrigan

That backline. Gross.

Remember

Slater
Boyd (just don't)
Inglis
Hodges
Folau

The forwards will lay a decent platform but that backline will kill everything they get, they would make the Broncos backline this year look competitive.

Maybe Coates playing will get him to improve, both for his and Broncos sake, because he's really, really far from being Origin quality at the moment. Even further than the Lees, and you'd really have to dig way down the bottom of the shit barrel to get those 2 selected.

I'd prefer Gagai on the wing and get a defence-orientated centre next to him even if it's a regular forward.
