Well I think something is definitely happening.................................. at the moment we are clearing the decks.........................Bird gone, Joe apparently gone.

So there is clearly a plan in progress we are just not privy to it.

Of course we all want to believe this.

not really, some people have the ability to learn from their mistakes.

or just maybe, the media are getting more clicks by pretending we're not even looking for potential recruits and it is doomsday for the club ... hell, maybe the spent 10 seconds on here and thought, "this narrative could work for us"
If you think negative stories about the Broncos isn't the exact narrative they've been running with for years, then I'd like to know the value of the real estate that rock you've been sleeping under is worth.

I guess the argument is that getting spanked in the NRL is better for their development than not playing any footy for 16 months due to there being no ISC. I wonder if Kev will have the balls to drop them all back to reserves to earn their way back to first grade.

How? Thanks to a player market that resembles the Murray-Darling basin, we'll be struggling to even make up a squad of 30 with all of them included.

pretty good actually ... real estate is usually a good investment 😉

Forget about Drinkwater. There is no way the Cowboys will release him with Clifford having signed with Newcastle for 2020 (likely to be there for 2021 with a release).
That could change tho, depending how badly the Cows want Widdop.

Payten has merely said they dont have the dollars for him but if they move on Clifford and Drinkwater next year they might have enough money to convince Widdop to go there.

It is the Mole so take it with a grain of salt until the club bid him farewell

Piakura only needs a good preseason to be in calculations to debut sometime this year. We will have the money to hold onto him surely they couldn’t screw this up

I read today that Lodge could be going to the Warriors. When I hear that, it makes sense. His father in law is the recruitment manager there so I would not be surprised. If any club was going to pay close to his full Broncos salary, it would be the club with his father in law as the recruitment manager.

Edit: Woops didn't even see the above posts.

ehh didn't his wife/partner have breast cancer or some shit?

i mean, I'm happy to let offa go as he's not value for money, but if we're cutting slack for isaako then I think this situation deserves the same consideration.
Yeah very true but I think his wife beat the cancer either before or pretty early in the season so that’s not much of an excuse for him later in the season... but in saying that, now that you’ve reminded me about it, it is a bit surprising that he made origin and had one of his best years last year when I think she was diagnosed with it or even still a year out from beating it

It’s not close to his full wage it’s roughly 300k more a year... I’m sorry that’s a deal we can’t let go... that clears up our salary cap immensely

From this article:

WTF?
Thought he was on 700k.

Anyway it doesn't matter, if he leaves that's his wage, whatever it is, off the books.

We are becoming an easy target now for other clubs to target in getting us to release players and subsidise their contracts. Thats Moose, Joffa, Bird, Lodge possibly. We have become a soft touch and it needs to stop even if we have to keep some of these blokes around. We are fast becoming a joke.

I’m not happy to give either slack for what they actually did. Having a sick dad doesn’t make you forget how to catch or stay on your wing and having a sick wife doesn’t make you forget the rules of the sport you play to the point of giving away embarrassing, sometimes 5th tackle penalties. Plus these are things both of them have been doing well before they had any excuses
