Really? I just don't get it. Yes, he can finish a try, jump for a high ball and he will be a loss but he won't be a huge loss. His offensive play is pretty good, his defensive play is woeful.
He's only 20 yo. Has already played Origin and has scored 8 tries in a bottom feeding team. Not to mention speed to burn and a total X factor. He certainly has some deficiencies but Bellamy will sort that out. A future superstar.

Wow, apparently there could be an early release Coates for Hynes. Puts Isaako back on the wing. I’d take that every day of the week.

We got enough cash to make Harry Grant as rich as a Koch brother. I see Harry Grant in a Broncos jersey.
I think if you like a lot of Melbourne players and their coaching systems, the shortcut to happiness is to quit swimming against the tide and switch allegiances to the Storm. Like Xavier.

Of course it can’t get worse from here. Who are we going to lose next? Dale Copley? Way to point out the obvious.. #thingschangebro levels

Someone (can't remember who) mentioned in another thread how both of his housemates have been moved on this year. I wonder if that also played a part in it. I've always thought loyalty goes both ways, and the club hasn't exactly been loyal to a lot of players they've let go recently. So I can't blame him for leaving if that is the case.
Either way, fix the spine, fix the defence, start winning again and players will once again will want to play for the Broncos.
You think a club like the storm or roosters would have just kept Dearden and Macca around out of the goodness of their hearts with the way they were playing?

we're in a rebuilding phase ... why the hell would we rebuild with a player with one foot out the door. give that opportunity to someone else who wants to be here.

We've been rebuilding for how many years now? It's a piss weak excuse for any football club to use, especially bordering on 5 years of it's use.

On Coates. Drop the ****. Bennett would have back in the day, so **** him. Q-Cup for the year, then **** off to our biggest rivals. None of this wishing the best, wish everyone in that team the absolute worst seasons ahead.

Your divorce is going to be fun!
That's why I try to look after her. The call of NRL is a business means we have to be ruthless pricks, and we need to cripple the competition as much as possible. If someone wants to get a player, we get the best deal for us, not for them. They want us to chip in their wage, there's the door, we will pay our sunk cost, but that's as good as you get.

The anger on display in this thread tells the story of how damaging this loss is, but this club had made its bed. Now we're lying in it.

That being said, any player that would rather **** off to easy street instead of making up for the wooden spoon they helped deliver isn't the sort of character I want at this club, and won't make me lose any sleep. Byebye.
I think a lot of the anger on display is due to the second paragraph of your post, not the loss of some supposed superstar. He is a fast winger, that’s it.

The only positive here is that he is a winger, I won't pretend like he is shit because he is clearly not.

In case it wasn't posted yet -

Sad Jim Carrey GIF

This is what this competition has come to: One of the top teams poaching a player from one of the bottom ones. It is a laughing disgrace how top heavy the comp is, and it doesn't surprise me at all to see that Melbourne are one of the benefactors.

Walters is in cuckoo land if he thinks we are a chance of the 8. To make it we will need to win 13 games. Including the bye we have 16 games left. We need 11 more wins so can only drop 5. We play storm roosters and souths so theres 3 losses to start with.
Would have to finish 10-5. Considering that we are on a 3-23 stretch, it won't even come close to happening.

Did Bennett drop Glen Lazarus when he signed with the Melbourne Storm, or did he help Brisbane win a Grand Final?

Seeya Coatsey........................yep I'd drop him.

He chose to turn his back on the club that gave him his opportunity, we weren't forcing him out or trying to cheap out contract wise...........he chose to go to a rival.

He has basically declared that he does not want to be a Bronco and that's fair enough, but we should be playing guys who do want to be a Bronco.

Who do you play if you drop him?
Broncos need to win games to start to get confidence back, its more important than just dropping players to teach them a lesson for leaving.

Didn’t have to Lazo broke his leg in 97 and went to the Storm 98.

To be fair he'd get that opportunity no matter where he went
