Yeah it's a fine idea except I don't think he'll leave Sydney AGAIN. He's family first.
Yeah, no idea what his family situation is. It's only a year he'd have to be in Brisbane.. I think it could be worse for him than to sign a one year deal with us.

Losing faith in Pat, mate?
How can you be losing faith in a player who’s been injured the whole year though? You’d wanna hope he isn’t losing faith otherwise I’d be worried as to what hope left he has for the broncos

A lot of people seem to be confused about Jensens role. He is a depth player with a bit of age and more experience than the average 20 year old. As per what Ben ikin said. He’s not the bloke who is replacing lodge. I think you’d find he is the cheaper replacement of Asiata

Yes, but not superstars really..

Reyno and Capewell aren't here yet.

When you compare us to Melbourne..... Come on.

How poor do other clubs have to be to not sign players like Hynes and Hughes who were languishing in Q Cup. There are genuine players out there if you give them the right system to build into elite players.

But the Storm have..
Papps AND Hynes.
Smith AND Grant

Like... That's fucked.

I wouldnt have said people like Hynes and Hughes were languishing in ISC. They were playing well enough but what they do a hell of a lot better than we do at the storm is make them develop in ISC before they play NRL. We dont.

I think the jensen signing is a smart and good one.. he's a solid bench/depth player going by experience, stats and what I've seen of him its the the type of player we need for his role. At his age alot of front rowers really start to hit their straps.
What is it with people so in denial about Staggs playing 6. The club has even admitted that it’s going to happen. So why keep going around it.
Without a doubt staggs is playing 6 otherwise they would not be buying centres that aren't depth players like gagai.

The thing is tho we are cashing in all these guys and moving them on this year, we still need to find replacements to bring into the 30 by august for this season.

Yeah but if you think about it like this
Milf has $250k left on his contract this season. If you move him on you still need to replace him in the 30 with a min wage player. What’s a quarter of min wage, like $27k?

well worth the extra 400k moving on TPJ, Milf, and Coates would get us. You out that cash straight toward paying off Lodge’s contract and our cap space looks heaps better next year.

Wow. Since it seems we aren't going after Finucane... Could we possibly make a play for Christian Welch?!

He's in his prime. Only contacted for next year not beyond... He'd be very handy pickup if we paid slight overs to draw him out of Melbourne

He's the type of player we need. Anyone from the storm system who will bring the right work ethic, training standards and DEFENSIVE KNOWLEDGE.

our biggest issue is defence. We finally get that right in the middle, confidence will build in attack.

We'd be straight back into being a finals side with:

1. Farnworth / Isaako / Arthars
2. Oates / Cobbo
3. Niu / Gagai / Lee
4. Staggs
5. Farnworth / Isaako
6. Gamble / Staggs
7. Reynolds
8. Haas
9. Turpin
10. Welch
11. Piakura / Robati / Rikki
12. Kapewell
13. Carrigan / Hetherington / Gamble

14. Paix / Walters
15. Kennedy
16. Bullemore
17. Flegler
I have huge wraps on welch. He does the standard forward work very well, but his 1%ers and effort areas are awesome.

He also is a great defender and has great lateral movement in the middle of the defensive line and shuts down a lot of the inside balls or people pushing for breaks up the middle.

Off the field is also a thoroughly decent guy and would be great for club culture.

I just dont see how we could fit him in the cap if we are offering hass the big contract, and looking to address our issues in the spine.

Sounding less & less likely that Staggs will be 5/8 next year, which means I doubt the gagai thing happens.

Based on what?
Quotes from Staggs.

"I've answered this question many times," Staggs said.

"Centre is my best position and I've said with a pre-season at five-eighth I might play there, but at the end of the day I'm focused on [playing] centre.

"If Kevvy puts me there he puts me there but I think centre is my main position and I'm thinking about staying there for this season and maybe next.

He also has a really good head on his shoulders.

He's everything Carrigan wishes he was.
