One thing I noticed in the last 3 home games - Roosters, Bulldogs and Sharks last night - our team's warm up on the field before the game is much shorter than the opposition and the warmup only consisted with kicking and catching practice.

No sprints and contact. Would it be that they do that in the sheds?

It does reflect in the second half scoring against the Bulldogs and Sharks including the defensive effort against the Sharks.

Watching the Cows before the Titans/Cows game last week, they ran set plays for five minutes in the warm up. A few of which they used and scored from.

Yes, our discipline and our fitness has massive improved. It's one of the main things Kevvie has instilled in the team. Getting caught too many times with 6-again is a sign of a poorly drilled, unfit team. You can either take the whinger's way and blame the refs or you can clean up your act. I'm glad we've gone the latter route.

All jokes aside though, I saw one of the breaks Herbie made where he could have angled in and given Oates a free run to the line. Instead he almost turned his back to Oates and died with the ball.

I think I heard your head explode even from here.

It's about being proactive, not reactive. TMM has been decent, but you're also missing the several times he was out of position, TMM has shown he has class and ability, but as when he was previously in the NRL he is a 6, not a 1. I think we will get the most value out of him in the 6 jersey, and he has the potential to be a long term fix in that position.

I love when people bring up the "the error didn't lead to points so it doesn't matter" bullshit argument. It's the type of errors, like us attacking the line and he does a horrible kick being intercepted and giving up bulk territory, 2 weeks in a row. How about his chip kick into the in goal when we were trying to close the game out, our left side didn't even know it was coming, and didn't get within 15m of it.

Gamble is just bang average, and if he is our best option at 6 we are in a lot of trouble.
Yeah I even pointed out that the first try was TMM positioning error, but he is effectively communicating with the line on defence and it's working, all of the players have been talking about it too, that contributes to his defence.

We where solid last night outside of that one try Sharks where contained that doesn't just magically appear to a team like ours.

How many changes do you want?

If Gamble is dropped for TMM and that doesn't work or our drop off in fullback makes us a massive net loss what then, keep playing musical chairs untill the players are fed up?

Errors are not the end all of judging a player if thats all they do but with nothing positive to show for it which isn't the case at all with Gamble.

Sharks before we played them where seen as a legitimate top 4 side, lets not forget that.

I'd make 1-2 changes. I'd be getting either TMM or Walters to 6, this would depend on Turpins fitness.

I actually would make a 3rd and give Haas a rest. I think he needs to be given some time to recover and not make his shoulder worse.

And on the Sharks, they've improved heaps. But I think we need to look a bit closer before calling them a legit top 4 side. Lost to the Raiders and got pumped by Storm by about 18 from memory. They had an impressive win against the Eels, but have had a weak draw.

Haas needs more time on the bench in my opinion, though he's one of the best props in the game, having him on the field so much can hurt us too. He rarely offloads and gets held up so he doesn't get fast play the balls and gives time for the opposition to reset their line. Getting fast play the balls happening and momentum can be just as effective as Haas running metres.
Personally I think Hass and Carrigan could play the same role when they are both fit. With one coming off the bench and one starting.

With the Walters and Paix combo working for now, I'd rather try Turpin at 6 then putting him back at 9. But I think I'd rather give TMM, Gamble, Walters and Paix 3 more games with as little unforced changes as possible. By then Carrigan will hopefully be back, so they will quite likely be making changes then anyway.

I like idea of Haas and Carrigan starting and Flegler and Willison coming off the bench. That would be an amazing front row rotation.

Does anyone have any news on when Willison is due back? He's been out for 8 months so far I think, ACL's are a bugger of an injury.

Awesome win and good to see us play for the 80 minutes.

Why are people still on the Turpin wagon and trying to find a way to bring him back into the side when we have won two in a row? We look shitloads better without him. He can be the number 3 number 9 for the year in Cup in case of injuries and then piss off to the Dole-phins next year.

The thing is, we are so blessed with props at the moment that it wouldn't worry me how they lined up. Those guys you listed do look amazing though, I must admit.

Willison is 19 yr old... when he comes back he should be in ISC and staying there for the year.

Absolutely no need to rush him into the team when Jensen has been playing well as a minimum... but have solid back up in Kennedy and Palasia as well

Haas was 19 when he debuted and has been a mainstay of the side since he came back from the shoulder injury in his first season. If you're good enough, you're old enough.

But I agree, no need to rush him back if he is not ready.

when Moylan scored - TMM came rushing out of the line to put pressure on a loose ball, which is great, but he needs to remember he's the last line of d! moylan grubbered into an empty in goal and scored.

Personally didn't have in issue with that at all.

When they scored for 1. He charged after a ball by himself on the 5th tackle, and when he missed he stood there instead of running back into position. I understand him trying to pressure, but he needs to know his role, and also when to try and rush back to his place. Also out of position on a few of their kicks. I'm not saying he is doing a bad job, he's doing well, but he's a 6.

I didn't have an issue with that personally. He was unlucky not to get ball.

Right now we need him at fullback, but maybe when we have another fullback who is competent both in attack and defence, we need him to be playing at fullback.

This was beautiful. Too bad Herbie doesn't pass to Oates.

This was very clever from Reynolds and Martin. Sniffing around the middle for some tired forwards. That creativity is something we've been missing for a long time.

We're going to see that quite a bit this season I reckon and we'll score quite a few tries off it.
