looking forward to seeing how some of these guys go up against stiffer opposition.

Smoothy, Sailor and Mariner were the best on field IMO.

Rogers, Leota, Johnson, O'ofou and Te Kura also had good games.

I'd be giving them all some game time in the next trial

Sloppy finish from the side.

Conceding two really soft tries under the posts in a matter of a couple of minutes.
It was a sloppy finish but at the end of the day we had a gassed team in the first game of the year come up against an entirely new set of players. Sloppy yes but none the less isn’t really a great indication. That first try from Wynumn was a bit of why the **** bother it was dead obvious he was going for the hero play there at 44-0 I think even the Wynumn coach would rather have practiced a nice play inside the 10 against a quality defence then a cheap dive under the sticks for the points.

3- sailor just seemed a league above the rest
2- ofua very impressive raw but plenty to build on. Nice lines quick play the ball and always looking for work.
1- smoothy did some nice things, didn't have to defend too much and did show some fatigue. I don't think we lost or gained anything much when Horne moved into dummy half. Hopefully a better viewing in another trial.

Thought some good things from mariner, Rogers, ahearn and quai ward

Honestly was a bit disappointed with Te Kura and Bayliss Brow expected more from the two of them.

Top 3 earned another 2 games but regardless they would have been playing it. Leota and Johnson are really unlikely to play next week O’ofou and Te Kura are in with a chance with likely quite a few forwards rested and I reckon Rogers/Ahearn will probably get a game next week with not only the need to see if they can make the jump but Reyno and possibly even Ezra will not be playing leaving Madden in the 7 and potentially the 6 and a bench half spot up for grabs.

If Smoothy can hold his own in defence he`s in the team IMO .
Some very nice one handed pick up and runs also a slick no look pass . Has a big boot on him . I also liked his chase he was putting on the kickers from marker .

Thoughts on the game (stood behind the goal posts):
- Thought Ahearn was pretty solid. A lot of our good shapes came off of him.
- Smoothy pretty great. Some really nice control around the ruck.
- Edge structures looked good - both centres defended well.

He is what an NRL minimum standard hooker looks like. He's nothing special. But he's perfectly adequate.

We've become used to sub par hookers for so long we've forgotten what one looks like. We need to **** off that muppet Walters asap. Paix can be 14 until Mozer is ready.

Obviously, not going to happen but we all know it's what needs to happen.
Geez buddy, I normally like your posts but the entire off-season every second post you make is having a crack at Billy. We get it you hate him but please don't spam every topic with it.

Sorry you feel that way, but there's no excuse to play the bloke now.

Mariner needs to be prioritised at some point, we can't have another scenario of an extremely talented junior asking for a release because they're stuck behind incumbents.

Good decision to re-sign Herbie, the pressure is entirely on Staggs. If he isn't getting himself involved and playing to his potential by R6-R8, we have to consider making that call, especially if Mariner is destroying QCUP. Hell, if Riki is still stinking it up on an edge I'd nearly give Staggs a few games in the backrow to at least give Mariner an opportunity.

Like I keep saying: our outside backs depth is the best in the comp. We have a few more names to throw in the hat after today.
