So I guess untill we get to the top 20 or so it will be pretty random.

Like Turpin being ahead of Gamble seems to be an eye brow raiser already for me, but I only put a top 10 list with only one current player so my choices are still miles away from coming up.
Yeah I could only do a top 10 as well.

FMD ...don;t know how you can have the head space to put any more thought into it than that.....

I did twenty loved and three hated. Probably could have expanded the hated by a few, but I don't really have that much hate to go around. Not a healthy way to live.

Yeah I'm with you. Players annoy me when they play for us, but once they leave I don't really care, I wish 'em well for the most part (apart from when they play us, I hope they have a 0/10 game).

Yeah, I went with 15 loved and I think 7 hated. Even then, besides maybe 3 of them, it's more of a dislike than a hate

50. Israel Folau - If the list was based purely on talent, Folau would have made my Top 30. However as BroncosFan pointed out, he was a luxury buy who spurned the club during its (then) lowest ebb. Izzy didn't make the greatest first impression either, and the only games where he really lived up to his pay cheque both happened to be against the Titans. He was much better in the second season and played a huge role in the Broncos mid-season revival but by that point he was off to the AFL, so it was difficult to get invested.

A quality player and 50 is about right for him.

50. Brett Seymour - For me is a cautionary tale of what happens when you project a player's career based on promise he showed as a youngster. For a 17 year old to come up with some of the plays he did was incredible but over time he just didn't have the grit to live up to expectations. I wouldn't say he was a total bust, he still had a solid career and helped the Sharks and Warriors have success but there was a point in time he was being compared to Johnathan Thurston and he fell well short.

49. Tyson Gamble - One of those all effort players who came in when the club was struggling and was clearly doing everything he could to right the ship. It's easy to see why he'd be a fan favourite, but there's just so many guys I'd have above him.

48. Alex Glenn - The last couple of years definitely knocked him down a peg although I think a lot of it was misfortune than anything else. The poor guy could barely make it through a game without suffering some kind of freak injury. Plus, his appointment as captain seemed rushed to begin with. He was clearly on the outer before a surge of good form saw him re-signed and since Darius was struggling he just happened to be the next cab off the rank.

Otherwise he's a no-brainer for a list like this. He was a veteran of the club, performed in a variety of roles, had a few quality seasons and never really played poorly. His biggest crime was that he wasn't a world beater which for me made him more of a Mitch Aubusson type figure.

47. Jake Turpin
- The pick is something of a meme but like PWA said, he had a couple of performances where he put himself in the right spot at the right time and he was all effort. Like Gamble, I think there's more than 50 players who belong on a list like this, but there's a recency bias and a younger demographic in play as well.

Favourite Plays

Israel Folau - The long range try he scored against Melbourne in that 2010 upset. It was the exlamation point on a great half of footy and the way he stepped Billy was just great to see.

Brett Seymour - The try he set up for Casey McGuire in the Broncos get out of jail win against Cronulla in 2006. Brisbane finally broke their losing streak and the play to do it was just so skillful with Seymour and Lockyer combining.

Tyson Gamble - The strip on Jesse Ramien that saved a long range try and the carry on afterwards.

Alex Glenn - A try he scored against Cronulla in 2011 where the fullback waited an eternity for it to go dead and Lexi pounced on it.

Jake Turpin - When he rattled a few of the Roosters ribs in that 2019 game. I'd like to think the Chooks remembered that night and signed him on that basis.

To be fair the list is liked players not rank the best, that's why if anything a player like Gamble makes complete sense in this regard.

I'm not baffled by it but I've got much fonder memories of other players and I'm sure if there's a larger sample size they'd say the same.

For me I never really got to see/don't remember the players from the 90s only in grand final replays so if I voted I would my votes would of left out alot of the greats

BHQ Loathed

46. Corey Parker

Not going to bother with stats and a pic for this one as obviously he comes later on in the loved list. The person to vote for him was Ztop. Is it a personal thing?
