08/09 Premier League Thread

In part I agree, and particularly in football terms it's quite excessive. However, compared to the money that star NBA players and some F1 drivers get, it doesn't seem too disproportionate IMO.

Atleast you learnt something about the NBA from 2K9 [icon_razz1

We was robbed last night. A goal by handball and a penalty given for a foul outside the box. FFS.

Not baiting.... how many games does a Soccer player play over in the top clubs... compared to how many games a NBA player plays.... I honestly don't know... and how many games do they play in a season.... F1 drivers get paid IMO alright, everytime they go out there, theres a higher chance than a Soccer player or a NBA player that they might not come back.

Soccer player can play up to 60 club games. I think with play-offs an NBA team can play a bit over 100 games, though I don't really know how many games they are rested. As for F1, well, I can think of more Soccer players that have died on the pitch than F1 drivers, and obviously the former get more injuries like broken legs etc. Sure it's more dangerous, but safety is pretty good. That being said, guys like Raikkonen don't get paid 50m a year because the sport is more dangerous - it's just market demand that sets the price.

sigh- liverpool dropping points at home what a dissapointment. Beautiful strike by Gerrard. Fkn Cahill

We sat back after scoring and let them into it.

Really depressed about this result, the title is looking further and further away.

I don't think a point is anything less than we deserved! Fantastic effort with a severely depleted team.

I don't even know if Liverpool winning the title will be a good thing after all, this isn't a stab at you ning by by means, but there are enough plastic Liverpool supporters as it is. If Liverpool win the title, every bastard and his dog will suddenly be a massive Reds fan.

True. But i'm pretty sure there's already enough plastic Man Utd fans, so it can't hurt. [icon_razz1

Well my point is, there are enough kunce out there who support Chelsea, or Man U or Arsenal because of their success in the premiership. After winning the Champions league the amount of Liverpool supporters mysteriously increased and I expect the same if they win the premiership. While it's not gonna make a big difference, it's still gonna be so farking annoying for people who legitimately support a club.

Yeh, but's there's not really much you can do to stop it unfortunately. No matter who wins, there'll always be a bunch of bandwagoners who claim they are lifelong fans yet can't even name the clubs stadium or more than five players, etc.

It's frustrating as ****, but unless you want to go on a mass killing spree Scotty, i don't think you can prevent it.

Mass killing spree you say? .............

:P

Podolski is leaving Bayern to go back to Cologne??? Why the hell would you go and do a thing like that. What a turdbag.

I love Torres!

The rest of the Liverpool players are just standing there like a stale tin of piss watching him... where the hell was his support? Credit to Torres though, outstanding player.
