Yeah, but does he want to be a winger? We tried that once with Tate... Though, that said, I do agree with you. Michaels did nothing before he was hurt to convince me he can't hold down that left centre spot for good.

He doesn't have a problem playing wing for Australia or Queensland. The Storm have a dearth of outside backs hence why he gets used in the centres, and Inglis at five-eighth. In reality both should play wider out (Israel wing, Inglis centre).

It's not as if he won't see ball on the wing. He'll get kick returns and that should give him more opportunity to run in space.

The idea of Hunt at fullback linking with Folau and Yow Yeh is mouth watering to be honest. Not quite Lockyer/Sailor/Tuqiri but it's getting up there...

Hodgo would just need to learn to pass to his winger in the off-season, or Izzy has a roaming commission like past big Bronco wingers of years gone by.

I would have put Falou outside Hodges, but I thought that would have made the offense too predictable. Falou and Hodges on either side of the field would make us more damaging as a unit.

Don't underestimate Yow Yeh and even Michaels, if that were the left side combination. Michaels has a tendency to work well with his winger, and Yow Yeh seems like a natural try scorer. Teams would only focus on Hodges-Folau for so long.

could open up opportunites for whoever is on the left ... particularly when the broncos are attacking from close range .. opposition defenses would have to really pack-it-in against Hodges and Folou and if so it could leave them thin on the other side ...

Looking at our team for 09 whatch a bunch of nice guys absolutly no mongel. This will be the first year that the opposition has no one in our side that they will fear running at.. first year ever .......

Setu has some mongrel in him. He'll probably play the enforcer role next year.

Sammy T anyone? This guy has really stepped up to the plate this year as a leader. He's the man to take our pack forward.

Definitely missing some old heads but, we are really missing Petero and Thorny.

Folau
Lockyer

Although some may argue, i think it is fair to say that the following positions we can be sure will be filled, whether we like it or not.

1. Hunt
2. Michaels
3. Folau - face it, we didnt pay 400k a season for a winger. it makes sense playing him outside Hodges, but i doubt it will happen.
4. Hodges
5.
6. Lockyer (c)
7. Wallace
8.
9. Marsh
10.
11. Parker
12.

5- IMO should be filled by Yow Yeh. I haven't seen much of him, but according to some on here he is a future star. Should top off an intimidating backline! (on another note, what happened to Hewitt? hyped up in the pre-season, didnt see him once all year...)

8 & 10- Kenny has been playing outstanding this year. Really stepped up and has well and has truly earned a starting spot. As for the 10, i think it should be Clinton. Apart from that last game, he was playing well.

12- Thaiday. Some say play him at prop or lock, but i disagree. We already have some specialist locks, so not there. and i prefer him running wider sometimes rather than infield at prop, so definately not there either.

13- Stagg. Not too much point starting a workhorse from the bench IMO.

14- Gorrell. Will rotate well with Marsh. Hell, if he plays well enough give him the starting position. Any injuries to either him or Marsh, McCullough can slot straight in.

15- Taylor. Must be given a permanent bench spot this year. Hopefully can produce some of his outstanding 07 form.

16 & 17- To be fought out by Te'o, Setu and Sims but IMO Te'o and Setu. Add the mongrel to our pack. Rotate with the back rowers. Once Thaiday is off, he can go back on as a prop so we have 4.

Hope i didn't miss anyone...

I'd unleash Wapau at some point next season.

Not fit enough for NRL first grade imo ... just not quite equipped with the tools to make it at the top level ...

I cant agree with that. True, he isnt fit enough for NRL at the present time, but he will be training with the Broncos full time next year, and his fitness will only continue to improve like it has in his last 2 seasons with Redcliffe. He is one of the most skilful big men Ive seen.

What else do you feel he is lacking? I'd be interested what I'm missing through my red & white glases
